But some want to lock up everyone to protect those who are more vulnerable.
It’s probably safer in a Disney Park than in a super marketI don't fully understand why walking one way helps.
Did the CDC recomend this?
Statistically, it’s just not true. You aren’t in a super market for 8 hrs or more, exposed to a much more diverse group of people. Length of exposure is critical. It’s probably safer in a Disney Park than in a super market
Something like 40% of Americans are obese I believe? Add in anyone old who isn't, and anyone young who isn't but maybe has other lung diseases etc, yeah that's most Americans. No, I think most of us want everyone to willingly distance, limit exposure and wear masks so that no one has to lock down. They refused though and now that may not be enough.
The problem is, a bunch of grown up people aren’t willing to accept this thing is real, and refuse to make even the slightest sacrifice insisting on behaving as if things are normal. Their solution is to have anyone who isn’t 100% healthy give up their lives entirely so they don’t have to give up anything. It’s beyond selfish and self centered.
You do realize if we “ lock up” those over 60 and all those who have any underlying condition, we’re probably talking about a majority of Americans? Just obesity alone would knock out a great many people.
Something like 75% of Americans are obese I believe? Add in anyone old who isn't, and anyone young who isn't but maybe has other lung diseases etc, yeah that's most Americans.
I don't know how they think they would have an economy left if the locked all those people up until the virus was gone entirely. Could still take years with no other precautions.
I dont know about you, but I do not stand still in a supermarket for more than a few seconds except to pay for maybe 5 minute. It’s probably safer in a Disney Park than in a super market
They're the most outspoken, but i think they are definitely the minority in America.Yes, I say lock up the people that don't want to wear a mask and social distance.

There is a whole lot more standing or sitting around near people at disney.

In the UK I'm not so sure. We seem to be about a month or two behind USA right now. Still no mask requirements. People saying they will refuse when the ban is expected to be announced this week. Social distancing is being relaxed in supermarkets and bars and restaurants. Plus this week Boris has decided that all those happily working from home should be told to go back to work!
Uh no. Where did you get that statistic? Certainly more people than should be by far but not 3/4th of our population.Something like 75% of Americans are obese I believe?
A mask mandate was enacted Friday at 5 in KY. Of course it’s already being contested in the courts but I can report that in the last 2 data I went to 2 grocery stores. Every single person wore a mask. I was impressed. Hopefully if it even lasts a couple weeks it will help.I just don't get the mind set here that people won't wear a mask because of their freedom. Don't we all have the same freedom here in the US? Why does your freedom to not wear a mask negate my freedom to be out in society safely with a mask?
OMG! Anyone that is watching what is happening here and not learning, is insane! Keep us posted on your situation there. I fear it won't be good because your citizens live close together, for the most part.
And every risk others take puts me at risk when I encounter them somewhere I need to go like work or the grocery store which is what is infuriating about all the “just stay home if you are worried but don’t blame me for going out to a bar” crowd. In addition, there are risks we have to take. We’ve cut down on grocery shopping by shopping online, delivery and curbside pick up. Still, there are times we have to physically go in a store. We do not HAVE to go to a theme park.
Every risk you take increases your chances of being exposed.

Sorry, yes you are correct, its apparently 40% obese.Uh no. Where did you get that statistic? Certainly more people than should be by far but not 3/4th of our population.
I should also note there is overweight, obese and then morbidly obese.
For the purposes of the CDC discussing who is more at risk for severe complications with COVID-19 they use BMI (a far too simplistic measure but that's what they use) and they have 3 different levels of obese IIRC from at least something someone posted on underlying heath conditions.
Nky. I can see Cincinnati from my house. Although the stores I went in are smaller and at off times. But it was people of all ages and genders. So if we can just keep it upAre you in a big city in KY or one of the small towns? It's a largely rural state, so just wondering.
