It’s more around 40% obese, but that’s still a huge number of people. About 10% of Americans are diabetic. Close to 50% have some kind of cardiovascular disease. Close to 10% have asthma. 15-20% are over 65- btw, the switch doesn’t flip at 65, it’s a graduating scale of risk. At any rate, clearly weeding out the less healthy isn’t a good solution. It’s ridiculous that we would ask those who don’t have a lifetime in front of them to spend their last years locked up so younger, healthier people don’t have to be bothered.
