New Grand One graces Seven Seas Lagoon

A new Grand One, the luxury yacht at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa, now is sailing around Seven Seas Lagoon and Bay Lake.
This new boat recently replaced the previous Grand One yacht.
"It's like the Rolls Royce of boats," said Walt Disney World Transportation Pilot Rob Tela, comparing the Grand One with other Disney boats on the two lakes. "It's all power. She gets up and boogies."
The 48-foot-long boat is a Sea Ray 48-motor yacht that can reach a speed of 36 miles per hour. It features three fully furnished staterooms, a small kitchen and dining area, a microwave oven, heating and air conditioning, a 12-kilowatt generator that can light up three houses, four televisions, a Bose audio system and a satellite link to the Global Positioning System that can track the Grand One anywhere on the planet within a foot.
The boat rents for $350 an hour and can accommodate as many as 16 guests.
"[Renting the Grand One] gets more and more popular every year," said Alex Hairston, Grand One coordinator at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa. "A lot of people [who rent the boat] want to see the [Magic Kingdom] fireworks. We get a lot of anniversaries, birthday cruises, corporate special events, bar mitzvahs ... We also do a lot of Cast events. Managers take their departments out."
Rob added, "We get a lot of return guests. We've even done parties for locals who want to do something different for their families who come into town. We're the only rental yacht in Orlando, so we give everyone an opportunity something they wouldn't be able to do unless they were on the coast."
