The bennies are not the greatest, but there are a few.
As a GG group, you are elligible for the special GG Experiences, such as breakfast at Tony's TOwn Square and the Illuminations dinner you mentioned.
Additionally, when you open a GG number, you specify a "home" resort, and they set aside a block of up to 9 rooms for your party, so that when the others make their ressies, you will be put in the same part of the resort.
GG Planners will supposedly help you to make all sorts of plans for your trip, but to be honest, I was totally underwhelmed with the GG Planners I spoke to. Nice people and all that, but they were woefully under-trained and inexperienced.
Having a GG number issued for your party costs nothing, so even though the bennefits are not that great, it doesn't hurt to have one issued. Who knows, maybe there are perks that I don't know about that will kick in after the group arrives.
