Grand Gathering

Not sure if this is the right place for this question

right now we are booked 2 rooms at the POP for a total of 6 people ( i used a discount code for the rooms)
my DH, DD and I are at Pop for 2weeks
my sister and future BIL , and other sister are staying one week
now my brother and his fiancee are thinking of coming as well for one week

can i book a magical or grand gathering with 8 people? and what about us being there longer than the rest of our party?
will i be able to apply my code to the gathering?

Yes, you can book a grand gathering with 8 or more people. You should also be able to book your 3rd room with the same code you have used for the others. I booked a GG last week for Sept '08 that includes 3 rooms, all with the 40% off deal. Also, the length of stay for each party (room) can be different as long as the guests assigned to a room check in/check out together. (At least that is the way it was explained to me.) Example: DH, DD & I will stay one day longer than anyone else in our party, but we are members of the GG that includes my MIL and my SIL & her family. We all check in on the same day, and I don't know if there is any rule about checking in on different days -- it just happened to work out that we will all be able to check in together, therefore it was not an issue for us. Just call Disney ASAP and tell them you want to book a GG, and you already have 2 rooms booked that will be a part of the GG.

Would like to know how that works out for you booking your GG with the code as well. You see, we have 24 people so far for our Grand Gathering in 2009, and I'd love to get a code for discount! But not sure they'd extend that to 7 rooms

For our GG last February (07) we really didn't take advantage of any of the GG events (International Dinner at Epcot with Illuminations special viewing; Morning Safari at AK, for ex - all at extra cost of course) . We found the best part of being registered as a GG was the special attention the check-in desk took to ensure we were all located close together in the area we wanted (at CSR).

There are some experiences you can book that do cost extra, but a couple of them sound really fun. I've not looked into them because I didn't feel that my group will have enough time for them. The main perk for me (the planner) is that all the reservations are tied together with a GG #. When changes need to be made, or dining is booked for the entire group, the GG # makes these things much easier.
