Grand Gathering question

I have an ADR for the Safari Celebration, and I just found out that one of my party will have to leave early and will not be able to make it. Unfortunately, that means that we will now have, in our party--

5 adults, 2 kids, 2 toddlers

Since the toddlers don't count toward the total count, we now only have 7 people. I still have the eighth person on our DVC reservation, and I plan to get the dining plan, so we still do kind of qualify for grand gathering.

My question is: if we show up with only 7 people (not counting the 2 toddlers) what will happen? I'm more than happy to pay for the 8th person with the dining credits.

Thanks,
Julie

Are you sure the toddlers "will not count?" For our GG last year, our toddler GS was counted towards everything we booked. :confused3

I was pretty sure they wouldn't count since Disney doesn't charge for them. They are both under 3.

Thanks!

Our GS was 2 and I also assumed he would not be "counted" because of his age. I was surprised to find out that he was indeed "counted" whenever we made our Grand Gathering ressies. ;)

I don't think it will be an issue. I am sure this happens with Parties of 8 all the time. What if someone gets sick or is too tired to go. I can't imagine Disney cancelling the dinner for everyone else, especially since you are willing to pay for the 8th.

Is this person checking out of Disney property? or can they just not make the dinner?

B.

the little ones count tward the number in the party...they must be accounted for on the boat or the safafi ride they are not paid members so you do not meet the minium booking requirements . If you still want to attend say nothing until you check-in and they will just charge you for the 8th person....

Thanks, everybody. Yes, our eighth is checking out and flying home the day before. But we are more than willing to pay for her, esp as we will have all of her meal credits, anyway.

It's just that the rest of us are so excited about the safari!
