Going there very soon!

Who has stayed there, and what's your favorite part of the hotel? Have you come across anything special or experienced anything unique that you can share?

yep i've stayed there
you've got the monrail and everyone there is so helpful and kind.

There is marina where you can sit and get a boat out. The beach area is next to the main pool and the deckchairs are really good. The themeing is victorian era and is very good. There are a few shops, some just clothes but the souveniers are good.

You should be able to watch the fireworks every night from either your bedroom or just walk outside. There are good viewing areas by the beach. You can also walk to the poly from the GF.

Stayed there for 7 nights in a 1 bedroom concierge suite. The view was pretty nice, it was just another view of other rooms and we were hoping for a theme park view. The concierge levels are very nice, the desserts they give out almost look like the desserts you have to pay $4 a piece for downstairs.
The monorail is right outside the second floor, and they have more then one pool if the other gets crowded. It's lovely that it has a slide, but it was a little depressing you couldn't swim in the "Lagoon".
If you wake up at 2am starving you can just pop down to the 24 hour Deli they have. It's all very nice and easy, but very pricey too. Getting to the MK is fine, but getting back you have to make stops at all the hotels so that will take some time. Also getting a bus from MGM, Epcot, the Waterparks, AK, DTD takes a lot of time since the GF is so far away. We waited for around 45 minutes I believe for the 10-15 minute bus ride.

i have never stayed there and i wouldnt want to. it seems like a "stuck up" place to me. JMO

It's not stuck up at all, it's relaxing and you get treated like a princess or prince.

I LOVE the Grand Floridian! It's my favorite hotel! I don't think it's stuck up at all. You feel like you're walking around the Titanic when you go in there! The lobby has got to be my favorite part.

I stayed at the GF
and it is by far my favorite resort
we stayed in a concerige room and the food was great
but here are my two little tips
1) they had s scavenger hunt of some kind throught the hotel...it was fun and difficult
2) go to the front desk and ask for an old room key...because back in the day they didn't used the plastic keys...each room had a gold key with a room number on the back and the GF symbol on the front. I got two...they are very nice

overally the GF is my favorite hotel and i recomend it to anyone

In my opinion the Grand Floridian has to many rules. I stayed there when I was 7 or so and the lifeguards told my brother and I we weren't allowed to splash in the pool. That made me angry and I haven't liked it since. I guess I'm just more of a laid-back Polynesian kid. If I had to pick something good it would be it's a good spot for fireworks and the monorail is right there.

Nope, never stayed there, but just 2 nights ago we ate at 1900 Park Fare (restaurant in GF) and we went wandering around the hotel, and all I can say is that it's simply gorgeous.

I love the GF it is BEAUTIFUL! The beach is so peaceful! We have a few of the Magic Kingdom Castle/Space Mountain which was magical. I don't know about you but I am a huge pin trader and I traded with a cast member and after she gave me the pin she said whatever you do, don't trade this pin. Supposedly its super duper rare. And I still have it to this day!

For resturants I recomend Citricos it has th emost amazing food and has an awesome ambiance (spelling?)
I also liked Narcoose's resturant it has great views of the fireworks inside or you can go on the private porch and they pipe in the music and it's an amazing view!

My first thought about staying at the grand floridian was great its gunna be up tight!
But not at all!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Everynight in the main building they have a band play disney songs its GREAT!!!!!
And i was staying concierge (is that spelled right )
They had really yummy treats throughout the day!
And they have cute stuff in the gift shop.ANd for breakfest there is mad hatter, alice, tigger, pooh and sometimes mary poppins!!!!!

And at night there is Cinderella!!!! And Prince Charming

IT is magic within its self!!!!!!!
Everynight you can watch the fireworks from either your bedroom ( depending on where it is) or go out by the boats!!!!!!!!!!!

IT is FANTASTIC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
