So true... you would think the people who design these are professionals with lots of design experience. Also, you would think they would do some sort of market research on their designs to make sure they will be acceptable to the customers.
Nah, I think they are just men without a clue on what a family needs (not saying all men are like this, though). I can't imagine a woman designing a room without dresser drawers or a bathroom sink in the kitchen.
