Grand Floridian Questions please...

ok-

I know about refillable mugs;
does the GF have them,
what do they look like,
do I get them at Gasparilla's?

3 Day UPH on key;
My DGF's Dad booked the room,
I show up 12 hours after they get there,
how can I get my 3 days put on my room key?

Haircut at the beauty salon;
is it really $75,
is it worth it?

Yes! They have the refillable mugs, and yes you can get them at Gasparilla's. I haven't a clue what they look like. I never got one, and never looked that closely.

I'd only recommend getting your hair done at the salon if it's a REALLY special occasion. A few years back, my wife had hers done there when we were renewing out wedding vows, and she was quite pleased. (They did some sort of a braided thingy that she loved. Go figure. )

As for the room key question: talk to someone at the front desk about it when you check in. It's Disney, after all, and it IS the Grand Floridian; they should be able to accomodate almost any situation.

We loved the GF! It was beautiful!
I didn't know about the refillable mugs!
And, yes--it better be a special occasion for you to spend that much on a haircut! I got a massage at GF spa and it was wonderful but VERY expensive!

you can also get the mugs right out of your mini-bar! same price as the grill last time i was there in '01

not sure if the mugs have changed but we have 2, one with an alice in wonderland tea party theme, and the other with a capt. hook pirate theme.

I have only stayed at ASMovies on property,
I saw them in the food court. We weren't at the
hotel often enough for the mug to be cost-worthy.
I plan on plenty of down time at the GF-
and we all know they do not have a "food court" there.
I forgot the rooms had the mini-bar-I had read about the
mugs being in there. The mug design is what I was hoping for,
IMHO I think the AS & POP designs are a little "tacky."

I have a-lot of hair , kind of looks like this guy!
I mentioned to my husband that I could use a hair cut,
he said to treat myself to one...I got that price from the DISboard
yesterday and thought it was a bit much-
I thought maybe Jose Eber would be cutting my hair. LOL.

One more question please...
would it be wiser to send the $$ with my DGF or
have the tickets added to my key when I get there
at 11:00 at night???
What do you think???

You should be able to just get your UPH ticket put on your room key when you check in and they give you your key -- 11pm is actually probably a better time to have things done than during the day as it won't be busy at that hour -- front desk is 24hrs though

As for your haircut -- you may want to check around. The other resorts have salons too and the prices may vary. I've gotten manicures and pedicures at the Perriwig salon at Y&B club and dh has gotten his haircut their and I don't remember it being outrageously priced -- it was a few yrs ago now though so sorry I can't remember what we did pay but I'm sure I'd remember if it had been outrageous There's also a salon at the CR and maybe AKL -- anyway, you may want to check around and see if they all have varying prices that way you can treat yourself without hitting yourself over your head to do it

tiggerwannabe, what crazywig said about the mug options is correct. They have two style--Alice in Wonderland with a yellow lid and handle and Captain Hook with a red lid and handle. Though they don't have a large food court like the All Stars, the GF does have a fast food quick service restaurant where you can get pizzas, chicken fingers, burgers, breakfast stuff, etc. It's called Gasparilla Grill & Games (since the arcade is located there too), and it's located on the back side of the main building. That is also where you refill your mugs. Here is a link to the menu so you can see what they serve:

I'll be looking for the Alice Mug, it'll go well with the Ariel Mug
from MK...

if my husband can get a haircut at MK for $15,
I'm sure I can find a better rate than the GF-
Perriwig's would probably work the day we go to the Boardwalk.

I didn't say better-I said it should be..LOL.

In leiu of a haircut, maybe I'll treat myself to a wash & braid-
my hair is very long and thick, a braiding may do me well
in that Florida heat!!!
