Grand Floridian question

Carrie - Congratulations on your trip :cutie:

We had a TPV in Big Pine Key last year (upgraded from GV), so I guess Sugar Loaf is the only building without TPV rooms.

We've been in every building at the GF (Boca Chica the most). Before they added the TPV view category, we had several LV rooms in Boca that had amazing Castle views :cloud9:

Best ever was from the Everglades Suite in Conch Key though ;) Dead-on :thumbsup2

Hope you have a great view and a great time

That patio!!! Amazing!!! Lucky you. What an incredible room and view! :wizard:

Thanks Misti - Yes, it was fun to stay there. But it was Christmastime, so we didn't get much use out of that patio :upsidedow It was two bedrooms connected by a huge living/dining area. We've also stayed once in the Cape Coral Suite, which seems to me to be the exact same suite, just in Sago Cay.

I'd love to see what these suites look like since being re-done :cloud9:

Wow, that is a wonderful room!! The buildings that have Magic Kingdom view are Sago Cay, Conch Key, and Boca Chica. Most of these rooms have a full view of Cinderella's Castle. The Grand Floridian is my favorite hotel! :lovestruc It is so beautiful and I love the atmosphere. The cast members are really nice and are always there to help. Have a wonderful trip!

Here is a map of the Grand Floridian: http://www.wdwinfo.com/resortmaps/grandflomap.htm

Thanks for the map!

No help here on the room location, I just wanted to say awesome prize to win and congrats to your family. Have a great time. :cheer2:
Thank you

Thanks, I don't think they're going to go as far as a suite, but I can dream LOL. Actually, I shouldn't even say that, it makes me seem greedy. The reality of it is we are paying for the last couple of nights, because we wanted to extend it. They did give us a great price, though, on the few nights we're paying for.

Carrie I know that your question has been answered but I want to say... CONGRATULATIONS!! on winning a trip to the GF...:woohoo:

BTW Boca Chica is my fave too...

Thank you :)

Carrie - I'm just curious - how did you win a prize like that! Love to hear your story. Congrats to you - and you will LOVE the GF. The MK view is just a bonus to this great resort.

Last year, as I was preparing to go on our trip, I bought a ton of stuff on disneyshopping.com on sale. They were having an instant win sweepstakes, (Dream It, Win It; if anyone remembers that) so every time I signed on there I'd enter. After a while of not winning anything I got bored and kind of forgot about it. I didn't even realize that every time I entered the instant win, I got entered in a drawing where the grand prize was a trip.

Fast forward to Oct. 1st: I get this email saying I won one of the grand prizes in the sweepstakes. I'm like 'yeah right' until I see it's a disneyshopping.com contest. I kind of remembered doing that a few months before. So I called them and asked if that was the name of the contest. I literally spent hours on the phone making sure this wasn't spam before I sent anyone any info. I actually spoke to a supervisor over there on the phone, who had a friend that worked in promotions. He called her and had her track it all down and call me back. I sent everything in, went on my trip, it was then the holidays and finally in January I realized that I hadn't heard anything back from them.

So I contacted them and they told me there were 5 winners and they were setting up the trips in the order that the winners were going. I got a phone call in March saying that I would be staying at GF. When I asked about adding nights, she told me they could get me a discounted rate because of the fact that I won the prize. So...that is how the whole thing came to be.

The actual prize was: Airfare for 4 from my closest airport to MCO, 4 nights in a WDW Resort, 4 5-day park hopper tix and transportation to and from airport (ME lol). I did call and try to wheedle a meal plan into this, even paying for it myself, but they said no because I wasn't paying for the park tickets LOL (I truly did not expect them to say yes!)

My only complaint so far: I would have flown JetBlue and gotten my first bag free and had in-flight entertainment (mostly for the 5 yo). They are flying us Delta and I have to pay for the luggage, no entertainment. I wouldn't care, but at the time they booked the flights they were almost the same price and the same times and airports.

And I feel really bad that I don't remember the names of the two CM's who tracked this all down for me and made a million phone calls back and forth to me, each other and other people to find out it was real, because I would like to give them kudos for checking into everything so diligently (sp) before letting me send my personal info out to anyone!

Carrie.. great story! So happy for you! :wizard:

johnsonet.. those pictures of the suite are AMAZING! I can't even imagine staying in such an incredible suite! Thanks for sharing those pictures!! :goodvibes
