Hi everyone,

For those of you interested in purchasing a fixed-week, it seems that initial sales will be limited to resort studios in Big Pine Key. It was our hope that the addition would allow for a 1-bedroom villa lake view fixed week purchase, but names will only be added to a list at this time.

I was told that information is still forthcoming, but no additional fixed weeks for the original building will be sold initially.

This is definitely a Wil L. (@wdrl) question as I am not sure how this is possible given that it is one association with pooled points and has less than the established number of possible registered fixed weeks.

Kind regards,
Jim

Going to be a headache as they are promoting 1 beds as an option at the existing building in promos. In saying this, the number of fixed weeks usually sold is small so maybe they are happy for people to walk away on this one. Weird though as they sold fixed weeks as a 'sold out' resort.

Even though the condo association allows it, I guess Disney can choose not to sell it.

The POS allows for them to sell up to 35% in fixed weeks

However , I do not believe that means they are required to do that. So, it leaves them to decide how many they want to sell for specific rooms types.

Huh. That's in interesting wrinkle that seems to make the original FW even more valuable.

That is interesting. Like a lot of things, they don't always understand the different layers until the customers start to put the scenarios in front of them.
I'm guessing the whole project is to release some pressure for Studio demand around wdw, and to have focus go to 1-bedrooms has to be an unexpected twist. Still a head scratcher to me that many of the studio's sleep more people than the 1 bedrooms. Did this section of GF have adjoining rooms prior to this revamp with DVC. Are there any properties where you can get adjoining rooms....studio-to-studio as apposed to a 1-bedroom with and an adjoining studio lock out. Off topic, but it seems such an odd choice to not put another murphy in the 1-bedroom units, as I think that would have reduced the studio demand some.
