I need some opinions for the GF Cafe for dinner. I have never eaten there and now have a PS for Tuesday June 15. Somehow I think Iheard it is on par with Kona Cafe which I do like pretty much.
Thanks

I think Kona is a good analogy--in terms of price and level of formality, and not types of offerings, of course. The Cafe has the frilly turn-of-the-century atmosphere of the rest of the resort--very pretty. The menu is not as fancy nor as expensive as Citrico's, but it does have nice variety. The back of the restaurant (away from the entrance) has a wonderful view of the center courtyard.

GF cafe is sort of like kona in atmosphere. The menu is very different. I like GF better for lunch but dinner is good too. Their soup is good as is there fish.

I will be dining by myself and wanted to do a MK resort so I could take a quick run to MK for new nighttime stuff. I enjoy Citrico's but I preferr to dine there with someone and no ressies were available for the 15th. Kona and The Wave were the only other 2 that had openings but both were around 7:30 or later and I did not want to start dinner that late. I honestly did not even know about the GF Cafe until today when I used Disney Dining website and it came up with availability.
Thanks for the info!!!!

GF is a great casual restaurant with good food. It's comparable to GF room service food. And, the few times I've eaten there, it's been very good.

I would bet you could get a walk up at The Wave or even Kona. Check at the front desk of your resort first thing in the morning. We were able to snag The Wave on the same evening. It was my favorite meal of the trip (surprisingly!)

I will be at work until about 5 up by UCF (northeast Orlando) so I really needed a bit of a guarantee.

We really liked the GFC on our last trip. We ordered steak and it was very enjoyable. The place is beautiful inside and service was very good. Especially yummy was the bread which is served with fresh butter sprinkled with sea salt.

The Wave, perhaps, but I seriously doubt there will be much walk up availability at Kona by that point in June.
