This has long been a favorite of ours for lunch. It has been a must-do on a MK day. We have always taken the launch over and enjoyed a leisurely lunch. We had lunch there this Sunday in fact.
For many years they've offered a wonderful sandwich. It used to be called The Grand Floridian and has been the Earl of Sandwiches for a few years. It was great! Turkey and ham over foccacia bread with a Boursin cheese sauce and onion straws on top. My DD always ordered it. We both ordered it this Sunday and yuck! They now use whole wheat bread instead of the foccacia. I like whole wheat bread as much as the next person but not on this sandwich!!!
Service was also much slower this day. Our glasses were empty for a while and in fact it took a while for our server to get to us in the first place. Perhaps they've cut back on staff??? At any rate lunch took an hour and twenty minutes without appetizers or dessert.
I'm sure we'll try it again next trip as we've always loved it. I guess any place can have an off day. However I sure do hope they bring back the foccacia bread as well as a Cuban sandwich they use to offer.
