Grand Floridan Walkway Hours

Staying at Grand Flo and want to get to MK as early as possible on 9am opening day. I know they have the new walkway but I heard it doesn’t open until 8:30? If so, when does the monorail to MK start running?

When we did from Contemporary last month they held you in a line prior to health screening aka temp check. Then you walked to security in line. Then held in same orderly line until the CM said you could go to turnstiles. Everyone was great except a lady in a rented scooter who ran down everyone getting to turnstiles. Then hit a lady on Main Street trying to catch up with friend who was running to SDMT. I have never seen a scooter to that fast or such a rude person.

When we were there last week we were able to walk any time we wanted on the walkway. We started around 8 and were at the park by 8:10. They just hold you up at the temp check with the boats if they haven't started letting people in yet. We also took the first monorail one day - it came right at 8. Because they do security and temp check at the monorail station that ended up being quicker and we were able to be the first ones in the park that day.

This is always one of those things I hesitate to answer as Disney ops can always tinker with things on any given Disney day, but my experiences from both sides (December/early Jan) have been more like 45-60 minutes pre park opening, not 30.

Can you walk the entire circumference of the lagoon now?

Nope there is still a no-go zone between the TTC and the Contemporary.
