Not 100% sure but I think you can go around the security if you are not going into the park.
Early morning for rope drop it is crazy and you can't get a ride on the monorail, or after fireworks and it's jammed at MK. It will be much easier and quicker to just walk from MK back to GF when it's done. Plus you won't have to worry about monorail break downs which were happening quite often. The walkway is about 1 mile long from VGF, so that isn't really that far, I do 2 miles every morning for exercise. So what time of day are y'all talking about having issues getting on the monorail at the Poly? We were just there for 10 days and never had a problem. Granted, we are not rope droppers so the earliest we were at security was probably 9:30 or 10 a.m. and we'd return after MK closed, but we never waited for anyone, anytime. Looking at the MK - GF walkway from the monorail, it looks long and hot, but that's just my uninformed opinion. A mgr at the Poly told me the Epcot line is not running because they simply do not have enough trains. With the very limited capacity per train car right now - they fill a train up fast, so... Anyway, interesting thread. I freaking love the monorail. But guess what? I LOVE THE SKYLINER EVEN MORE! And I agree with a PP - a walkway from AKL to AK makes so much sense. They could nature-fy it to make the transition from resort to park seamless.

I like to walk. I would use this walkway even if I was staying at the Poly for MK.
My questions are a) will they allow runners to run along that pathway, it might be like Disney Springs where running isn't allowed and b) would runners have to go through the Contemporary/Grand Floridian MK security checkpoints everytime they make a loop?
The monorail resorts have always had such short jogging paths, it would be nice to have a path from Poly to BLT. Have to burn off those Dole Whips somehow!
Webmaster Pete calls him Lex Luther, AKA Bob Chapek. Probably too much wildlife in the area for a path.Now....... they need to add a walking path from AKV to AK. Who do I call to get that going????
It's cheaper than a new skyliner.......Webmaster Pete calls him Lex Luther, AKA Bob Chapek. Probably too much wildlife in the area for a path.
What app is this? Fantastic!it feels wrong but it's only +50% longer from the Grand Floridian than the walk to the Contemporary; but the Polynesian is +160% ...
measured lobby entrance to Magic Kingdom entrance0.8 km (>15 ft) Contemporary to Magic Kingdom1.2 km (>35 ft) Grand Floridian to Magic Kingdom2.1 km (at least a mile) Polynesian to Magic Kingdom (1.2 km + 0.9 km)
with VGF being a bit south of the main Grand Floridian lobby, it would be a bit longer from there (+200 m); BLT is roughly the same as the Contemporary main lobby; PVB would be a toss-up depending on which building you're in but would generally be another +200 m

Polynesian to Grand Floridian
add to above to get Polynesian to Magic Kingdom
Genius! There used to be one called walkjogrun.com which did same also elevation changes but it was taken down.thanks! I used the measuring tool in Google Maps; go to google.com/maps and then go to where you want to measure and left click; a menu will appear and you can select "Measure Distance" to get started (see below)
you can also use Google Earth to do the same thing, either the online version or a version you can install on your computer or device

Not happening it would be like walking from BC to HS for Jambo and even further for Kidani.Now....... they need to add a walking path from AKV to AK. Who do I call to get that going????
