Grand Californian Super Thread

I apologize if this has been asked before. Has anyone ordered room service breakfast prior to getting in line for early entry for DCA?

Thank you!

Thanks! If you think of it, I'd also be curious whether Housekeeping has hot chocolate pods available. I only saw coffee and I think tea in the standard supply.
They do, but you have to request them sometimes; I don't think they're necessarily part of the standard mix, and even if they are, they usually only include one. Both my H and son prefer the hot chocolate, so these days I call down once we're checked into the room to request two of them for each day of our stay - so like if we're there four days, I'll ask for 8 pods (then tip the deliverer $5 for their trouble - I tip for everything!).

How busy is the bar/lounge area at the end of the day (9:00/10:00pm)? Are reservations needed or is it easy to stop by before going to the room for a glass of wine?

Last time I stopped for drinks was before the addition of the villas/DVC area. It was never a problem and there were always open seats at the bar and/or loungers.
I like to stop in for a Scotch to take up to my room at the end of a park day, and I've never waited more than a couple of minutes at that hour -- always seem to be seats available at the bar and the tables.

As long as you get there BEFORE 10 you should be okay, if they close at 10, they might refuse to seat or serve you. The Villas at Disneyland Hotel also have a cool bar by the pool if you want to see another area, just ask for directions as the gate nearest the pool/bar is locked and I'd ask if your room key will open that gate too, otherwise a longer walk.

Hi! I’m sure this has been asked a million times before but, can anyone tell me what a premium view at the Grand is? We’re going next month and I have zero clue. This is our first stay there.

I belive it is views of the pool. We were upgraded to this last time we were there. When you book you room it tells you what type of view

Is VGC the only DVC property with turndown? Do you have to request it?
As others have said, all of the regular rooms have turndown (I think it was interrupted for a while following covid?). I don't know about DVC but from above posts it sounds like they don't have it.

Sometimes we don't need/want turndown and put up the Do Not Disturb sign. Some days we don't need any refreshing of our room and do the same. I like to be a generous tipper but I also don't like to tip for something I don't need or want.

Has anyone staying on club level been able to access the Veranda after checking out of the hotel? We are planning on an afternoon flight and it would be great to be able to grab a drink and snack before we head for the airport. Thanks in advance and apologies if this is answered elsewhere.

Somebody else can answer for sure because I’m not positive, but it makes sense to me that you would access it with your room key card. And if you’re already checked out or if it’s past your checkout time, it won’t be activated to work.

I believe you could use CL until 5 pm or something like that. Your key should still work

Maybe policies have changed? In ‘22 we were not allowed access after official check-out time.

Is that what it said somewhere, or were told, or did you try to access & were denied?
We asked on check-out day and the CL Concierge staff said access stops at check-out time. We didn't come back later and try to access. (It's a stupid rule and I hope they got rid of it. Disney World allows access on check-out day until the Club closes at all their hotels.)
