Grand Californian Super Thread

In the past it was no bags line for early entry days. We typically don't do ee so never actually seen it ever opened.

Does anyone have a recent activities guide? Looking to kill the morning before OBB on Sunday!

In the past I used to see an option when booking a hotel to say what youre celebrating. Has this option been removed? Will be my first time staying at the grand and wanted to make it special for an anniversary trip.

I'm not sure about when you book online, but they always ask you when you call to book.

Edited to add that if you've already booked, you can call and let them know!

I have booked 2 grand Californian partial view for November (5th sleeper rooms). What things should I put on my room request? Any certain rooms I should request etc? Is partial view also considered a downtown disney view?

I *think* partial would only be park view. I think there are specifically downtown Disney view ones, which honestly don't seem to be the best in my opinion. I've heard a lot of people have noise issues with those and of course it's impossibly busy all day in that area so if you have windows open you'll get a lot of noise.

I was told by a CM on the reservations team that all "partial view" means "park view," it's just the pretty much everyone will be looking at trees since they've gotten so tall that they just call it all "partial." But if you're on a high floor, you might get some views of the park. We had a view of Grizzly Peak, the roof of Soarin', and Mission Breakout from our "partial view" room on the 5th floor back in August

the 5th floor tis for anyone right? with just the 6th floor for club level?

I'm almost to my 10 day countdown, when i can make my room request. I have already made room request, is there a benefit from doing it again at 10 days?

And is the best way by calling?

I think you should call again. No reason not to at least verify they made a note of it. What are you requesting?

We have a woods/courtyard

I want to be in that stretch of rooms that used to be a partial theme park but are now woods/courtyard since the trees got so tall

And I want to be by the Napa rose elevator. I have about 8 rooms I’m trying for

I was going to request the 4th floor but can we request the 5th floor too? I know 6th is club, is 5th too?

Has anyone ever requested and gotten the 5th floor?

We are here now, and we booked Woods/Courtyard, as we always do. This time we are on the 5th floor, overlooking the courtyard and our room in on the front hall of the resort. We are not staying Club level. We never ask for a location, just a King room. The last several times, we have been 3rd or 4th floor, overlooking GRR area and the entrance to DCA. I really like that area because of the Napa Rose elevator. But for us, the bedding is more important than location, so I only request bedding.
