Grand Californian Hotel Concierge

I have stayed at GCH a few time but never concierge. Will be there next week.
Can anyone tell me if they will allow me access to the lounge if we arrive at 8am? Or will we have to wait until check in time?

Will be there sept 8-12 GCH Concierge also. I have not stayed at this hotel before but I do know that you can use the concierge lounge tell midnight the day of check out so I would think you would have access as soon as you check in. You would think.

Everytime I've stayed at the GCH concierge, I've been told that I could not use the lounge after my check-out time, and that my card would not work for it. I would love to be able to use it longer than that on my check out day, is that a recent thing?

I don't know if this helps, but we stayed GCH concierge at the beginning of August. We checked in at 9:00am and we were able to use the lounge, even though our room was not ready. I didn't realize that there is a specific time range for check-in. When is it check-in supposed to be?

Check-in is technically 3 pm for all resorts. If they have a room for you, it can be earlier. We checked in at 11:30 this morning and were able to go straight into a room. We have stayed at the concjierge here at GCH before and were allowed to go up to the lounge right away.

We stayed at GCH in June 08.
We did not have concierge for the first day. On the morning of the second day, I wake up early to check in to our new room and we were given new keys at that time so that we can access the concierge lounge. Our rooms were no ready until the afternoon. However, on the last day, we were told once we checked out, we cannot use the concierge lounge. The best they could do is to extend it for one hour.

Supposedly, yes they do have a separate check-in. I've been met many times at the valet parking area by a concierge employee who took me up to the concierge floor to check me in. But there have been other times when no one met me, and I checked in at the regular check-in desk downstairs, and then went up to my room on the concierge floor. Apparently when they get busy at the normal check-in time, they can't always be available to greet you and take you personally up to the concierge floor to check you in.

Thanks for the post. Checked in yesterday and we were greeted however it was not busy so that may be why. We were given access to the lounge and were called when our room was ready. I happen to like concierge but i had a question on the rooms. i noticed we are on the 6th floor but the room i just noticed is not " concierge" on the signs there are a stretch of rooms that are labled concierge. mine is not ..is there a diffence? or just access to the lounge??

We stayed concierge at the GCH on sept 8th thru the 12th. The day of check out we asked to have access to the lounge and we where given new cards at allowed us access to the lounge and the pool area. All we had to do was ask when checking out. It did hurt that all CM working concierge had feel in love with my dd3. They where always waiting on her and bring her things. Telling her how cute so is. Like nana and papa don't spoil her already.

There are no special rooms for concierge. All the rooms are pretty much the same at the GCH. At PP, we did get a room that was larger than the regular rooms, but there was no labeling on the room or the floor.
