At $210 pp, and 45 years left until 2060.. That's $4.67/point/year. Add this years MF at $5.15,
you are paying almost $10 pp/year.... Still less than paying $16 rental price from Davids to get
the 11 month window..
We actually bought this resort direct from Disney at whatever the going rate has been during the past few years. Just signed papers this month at $170/pt after being on the VGC waitlist for a really long time. I've been on that waitlist three times and bought all three times from Disney . Something about this resort has a hold on me...Walt, Disneyland, lots of wonderful memories with my family growing up, the ease of entering the parks through the resort entrance, the original attractions...
Obviously I should have bought direct when it was first for sale, but I missed out, and now the waitlist is closed so I'm glad I have my points even though I paid a lot for them. The look on my special needs daughter's face when she saw Oswald the Lucky Rabbit at DCA in June was priceless. Oswald has been in Japan for awhile, but DLR is a bit closer and more manageable .
I just wonder what people think is a fair price for that contract? Even at $170 a pt you are looking at a $1000 difference in total cost. If someone really wants only 25 more points at GCV I doubt that $1000 would really be that big of a deal in the end.
Wow. I bought a small 75 point contract less than a year ago for 120pp. Crazy how the price has skyrocketed. I'm glad we got in when we did, as it's my family's favorite.

I agree.
I guess that for a small contract like that for a high demand resort, the price per point is not really the right measure. $210 is still crazy for me, I would never pay that, but I can see it making sense for someone.
Honestly we are in ROFR for 160 points at 145 pp right now. We looked at the 210 one and asked to go down a bit. I am very nervous that we will not pass ROFR. This is our first contract.
