Can anyone give me some feedback about this activity? My DD will be 9 yrs old. Also does anyone know the days and times for this and the Wonderland Tea Party and is it 90 days to make reservations? Thanks for your help. :flower:

Our kids (DD7, DS5) did it in Nov. 2003 and had fun. They each decorated a chef's hat and apron. Next they made worms and dirts (gummy worms, chocolate pudding and oreo cookie crumbs). After that they watched a Disney movie. I forget which one. You're given a pager in case they need to get a hold of you.

My DW and I had coffee and pastries in the restaurant. Had a great conversation with our server. It just so happened that the manager was Canadian and we had a nice conversation with her too.

When the movie finished they came out to the lobby where we met them. As long as we went with them they were allowed to go around the lobby to find people to give their worms and dirt to. DD gave her's to wonderful woman who played along. You can look at the pictures I took here http://homepage.mac.com/cslittle/grandadventure/grandadventure.html.

Your DD will probably be the oldest there.

Are the activities still for ages 4-10? Are mainly children in the younger range there? I do not want my DD to feel out of place. :earsboy:

I just booked my DS who is a 7yo (Actually closer to 8) for our trip this August... I think it will be a blast for him !

My DD7 has done this program 4 or 5 times. She loves it and will be taking her 4 yo cousin in October. They have about 2 dozen different foods they make. We've had the worms and dirt, English muffin pizzas, fruit tarts (twice--and they are the best), and some sort of cake. So, I guess she's done it 5 times.

If memory serves me correctly, it is held on Tuesday and Friday from 10am-11:45am, although they have always started and ended a little late when we've done it. It's a 90-day PS and they do fill up pretty fast now, although there are cancellations, probably because you have to prepay. It used to be about $15, which I thought was the greatest bargain on property. After all, you bet an apron and toque, 2 hours of babysitting, a cooking class, food--I still think it's a good deal at $25.

It is a great time. I would say that the majority of the kids are in the 6-8 age range, but in our limited experience it's more rare to see a 4 year old than a 10yo. I think your daughter will have a blast--it's a great program!!!! Enjoy!

My DD6 tried the Grand Adventures in Cooking over Easter week this year, they decorated aprons with their names and handprints and made dirt cups. They wore their aprons and special chef hats (with mouse ears) to pass out the treats in the lobby area. She loved it and also reports that there were a couple of 9 year olds. It was all she talked about the rest of the trip. I think that they do them on Tuesday and Thursday mornings.

Last year she went to the Tea Party on a trip with the grandparents--- she liked that, too! Alice and the Mad Hatter visited them while they had fancy finger sandwiches, grapes, strawberries and apple (juice) tea. I'm sure whatever you choose your DD will have a great time.

Have fun! :cool1:

My dd's and several other family members loved the Grand Adventures in Cooking. They have already added it to their "to do" list for our next trip. All of the Grand Adventures are big hits in our family. I can't wait for my girls to try the Albatross Pirate Cruise on our Dec trip.
