Good Riddance was our graduation song when we graduated from private school.... My best friend and I went up to the school the night before graduation and put posters on all the trees all along the mile long driveway up to the school and each poster had a line of the song on it... it was awesome. :teeth:

In 8th grade we had "At the Beginning". I don't remember who sings it but it was in the movie Anastasia. Good song. We also had "Drive" by Incubus. Not such a good song.
Also really like Good Riddance.

OMG! I have the perfect song. You might not know it, but it's a beautiful song. It's called For Good, and it's from Wicked, the Broadway musical. It's so beautiful, so here's some lyrics:

 "It well may be, that we will never meet again,
In this lifetime, so let me say before we part,
So much of me is made from what I've learned from you,
You'll be with me, like a handprint on my heart,
And now what ever way our stories end,
I know you have re-written mine, by being my friend.
Like a ship blown from it's mooring, by a wind off the sea,
Like a seed dropped by a skybird, in a distant wood,
Who can say if I've been change for the better?
Because I knew you, I have been changed For Good."

Our is we all need somebody to lean on
we made our own version - sometimes we get stuck and cant get out we all need somebody to pull us out, when you get stuck in a hole and cant get out we all need sombody to pull us out either the hole's to small or your butts to big we all need sombody to pull us out (long story)

When I first saw this thread, that was what I was going to put! I love that song. It is also a perfect song for people who are moving. That is definitely the best song for a graduation, though.

They played Heres to the Night at my schools graduation and it was very well done...except for the fact that the graduation was about an hour & they played it over & over & over.....all hour......lol...but it's an awesome song. Perfect for a graduation. :rolleyes1

Here's a few:

"In My Life"-Paul McCarthy and John Lennon
"The Prayer"-Celine Dion
"I Believe I can Fly"-(Space Jam Soundtrack)

The first one was my HS graduation song, the second one is my favorite song from Celine Dion so far, and the last one was my fifth grade graduation song.

When I graduated from 5 th grade we sang You raise me up and it was soooooooo sad!!!

For my 6th grade graduation we sang 2 songs: "I Turn To You" by Christina Aguilera and "Graduation (Friends Forever)" by Vitamin C. Of course, this was around the time those songs came out, but they're still nice songs for graduation.

Another good song is "Because You Loved Me" by Celine Dion - such a beautiful song.

eve 6- here's to the night (i love this song)
Vitiamin C- Graduation (so over done)
Green day- time of your life
In my life - Various Artists such as Bette Middler, Marquoes Houston
