Grad Nite Questions

Hi Everyone,
We are driving up to DLR for 3 nights the last week in May and I just saw on the events calendar that one of our nights is a Grad Nite, it's too late to change dates and I couldn't find availability at our hotel any other time that would work for us anyways. So my question is: does anyone know what time the park will close for Grad Nite? How will crowds be affected during the day? And is this really going to be a big pain and totally suck so that we should try harder to change our dates? Any other info anyone has would be great. Thanks a lot.

From what I've seen in the past grad night is about the night. You aren't going to see a million kids during the day -- they only get in free at night. Grad night starts at 11:59pm so it's not like the park closes at 6, infact the idea is to minimize the impact. The difference in your experience of course will be that you can't stroll around mainstreet at 12:30am during the "shopping" hour and the park will close a little earlier than usual that night for cleaning and what not... but not at 4pm or anything.

There are some events a few hours before the gates open so you will see more kids at the resturants (ESPN Zone mainly) but that's not the park.

My experience has always been positive during grad days. There's some traffic but that's typical for the season, there's some kids but there's also a lot of people watching over them and the park closes a bit earlier than is ideal but is still open enough to enjoy. I'm sure you'll have a good trip.

We have been around the same time for the last 5 years (we're going again this year too) and haven't had any issues with grad nites on the days we have gone. In fact when we first started going at this time, I didn't even know they were happening. I only found out after I found this board. I wouldn't worry about it at all!
