I may get to go to Disneyland for a seminar in mid May. I would have several half days and one whole day for parks. Ive been to WDW over 30 times but never DL. I noticed that Grad Nights are taking place during my trip. How much does this affect the parks?

It will only affect your trip if you let it.
Plan for there to be grads in the parks and go have fun right along with them.

It's hard to say how many groups will be there with option 3. I'd expect DL to be a little busier but not bad. DCA where the party is held will be a little busier.

I wouldn’t worry too much about it- we went for a week last June and the 2 grad nites were the 2 least crowded days of our trip (we didn’t see how it affected DCA- we just went to DL those 2 days)

Not much. Most grads show up late in the day/early evening. Some Grad Nites can keep AP's and locals away so (as disneylover102 said) in might even be less crowded than typical.

DCA will close at 10pm on those nights. That used to be its normal close time anyway, but recently it has been staying open until 11 on some nights. There will be a lot of teens and also other school groups.

Thanks for the help. Since I'm actually going to be there for a seminar, I will have 3 half days and 1 full day free. I will probably get parkhoppers and max pass just in case

My husband and I are in the same boat! He is getting sent to Costa Mesa at the beginning of May for work training (we are in Wisconsin). He offered to tack on a 4 day vacation to Disneyland afterwards, so excited! This will be our very first time there as well. Looks like Grad Nights start the weekend we'll be there too (going May 5th-8th).
