Grab-It Pack?

In the past I've used a cross-body purse at WDW, but I know from experience that I have a tendency to overpack it and make it heavy enough to give myself shoulder pain. I'd like to go hands-free this time and not carry any sort of bag at all, and I hit on the idea of wearing one of these guys (the website):

Has anyone tried this? I'm guessing it counts as a bag for purposes of bag check and I'd need to take it off at park entrances, but since we'll probably only be going through bag check twice per day or so I think I could live with the slight inconvenience. Other than that and bathrooms I should be able to just wear the thing all day and never have to think about whether I've put my bag down somewhere. I'm thinking of ordering one and trying it out at an upcoming convention next month to see how it feels to wear it for a day.

I've never seen one like this before, but it looks like it could work. I personally just use a nike drawstring backpack. They're light and so you don't notice it, and its just big enough for a snack bag or a few necessities. They are also small enough that you don't have to take it off to ride rides. I just usually keep it on or stuff it next to me, even on upside down rides.

Where does it go on the body? It looks like it goes around your waist AND your thigh, like a holster!

OMG I just went to the website you put on your post and saw the gallery pics....I love this bag! But I wish they had something prettier. Just because something is utilitarian doesn't mean it must be ugly.:flower1:

It does go on your waist/thigh -- I first came across it on ThinkGeek being marketed as a "gadget holster." I just ordered mine earlier tonight (went for the ultra because those look like the most secure pockets known to mankind), so I'll have to wear it around town and see how it feels. I emailed the site earlier in the week asking if it sheds water, and the person who responded said they'd ridden the Jurassic Park boat ride with it and the phone in the front pocket had stayed dry.

6"x9" for the big pocket...not sure if that'll be enough for a small water bottle with the other stuff I want to carry. I never used to carry a water bottle when I was solo-ing it, but when I was solo-ing it there was only myself to inconvenience with the "stop and drink every time you pass a drinking fountain" rule I imposed on myself after getting dehydrated one time at the parks.
