PIO or more likely Queenie.....

What are some super cheap things to see in Sidney? My friend are there right now for a quick visit and all they were told was to see the Opera House.

I feel like telling you NOTHING because I don't know where SIDNEY is...

I will suggest places for SYDNEY though :snooty:

Free...well...there isn't much...

- You have the Harbour Bridge (which you climb a pylon of for a fee)
- There is the Rocks area under on the same side as the Harbour Bridge
- While he is at the Opera House look all around that area.
- There's the Botanic Gardens on the other side of the Opera House if you keep going around the water from the Opera House
(Turn right when you're at the front door)
- If he follows Macquarie Street from Circular Quay to Hyde Park he will see all our main historic public buildings
- Looking around Darling Harbour.

This costs money...
- Weather is a bit crappy lately, so going up Sydney Tower isn't a great idea, but if it clears up it's good.
- A ferry ride from Circular Quay to Taronga Zoo is nice...
- A ferry ride from Circular Quay to Luna Park or completely round to Darling Harbour is great...
- In Darling Harbour we have the Chinese Gardens, Aquarium, Wildlife World

Public Ferry rides are definietly the way to go in terms of going on the water. The sightseeing ones do nothing more and cost way more...

I just started pre-planning our next six vacations. Disneyland, Disneyworld, Paris to see Disneyland there, The Disney Fantasy, Hawaii to visit Aulani and New York to see whatever broadway show Dinsey is running at the time. DH agreed to all of them, so we are on. My dream to see everything Disney may come true. Yes, I am a Disney nerd. We may have to throw in some non Disney trips for weddings and family events here and there, but I will manage to get through them.

Yay! Congrats.
WOW!!!!

Happy planning...

Love DLP. I'd definitely head there first ::yes::

Looks like we covered most of these on our trip in 1999. We also took the train to the end of the line near the Blue Mountains for lunch and a little shopping.

Okay, Kmedina admitted to eating one piece of the bacon, who ate the other? I see two red XX's ... fess up. :rotfl2:

I am so happy to move. I have to sacrifice things, but its worth it.

Thanks. I hope it works out. Have you seen all of them?

I reheated leftover spaghetti for the kids but was not in the mood for it myself. When DH got home, he made himself some dinner. He did not want the spaghetti either. I stole a piece of the bacon he prepped for himself.

That's good. Sacrifices are often worth it, so I am happy for you.

Yup....depends how long you have here but I do love the Blue Mountains

The train trip will be about $8-$9each way...despite the long distance as the short hop fares around the city subsidise the commuters from further away...

The other thing is that The Summit Restaurant has about the best views (I reckon) so if they are willing to splurge that is nice. It is EXPENSIVE at $95 each for two courses for dinner...
BUT...there is also a bar up there so you can just buy a drink and get the view ;)

Everything in Sydney is expensive...but...that's just the way it is...

Okay, your good to go on the bacon. :thumbsup2

That would nice of you. Thanks.

I have never seen a place with that many sky lights, its in the front room, both bedrooms , one bathroom and the laundry room. So much more room. We will be getting with the man on weds. We will move in on the 5th. It has alot of other things that go with it. I will let you know when I get all the details.

Your ticker does not mention Shanghai. Does that park not have a castle?

It's hard to visit a park under construction... :confused3

The resort is scheduled to open in December 2015

so no....there is no castle...yet...

Haha. I did not know it was not finished until I went to its website right after posting that. I was curious to see why it did not have a castle. My dorky self just assumed it was not in your ticker, because it did not have a castle. I saw the park links a lot when I was planning my most recent WDW trip. I never clicked on it until tonight, so I had no idea it was not done. The only Disney Parks other than the two I've been to (WDW and Dl) I knew about for sure are: Paris (my SIL recently visited the City without going to Disney), Hong Kong (as I am reading Princess' report) and Tokyo (My MIL has been there). Noe, it makes sense. Those are the only ones.

I am sure you are planning a trip to Shanghai after it opens. I read it opens in 2015. It will be years later than that before I can afford a trip there anyway with my next six vacations pre-planned.

tbh...I'm not sure if I will...
It's bad enough dealing with the Mainland Chinese people at HKDL...
I can't imagine the chaos and arrogance and rudeness and shoving and pushing that will go on at Shanghai... :sad2:
