now i have never heard this before but it may be a thing that happens ( I HOPE NOT)
OUr friends just got back from Disney and they stayed at the All Star Movies and they told us they were evacuating one of the pools and my husband asked why...(turn back now if you are sqeemish) someone had pooped in the pool and they were trying to fish out the poop...:scared1: i almost puked when he told me that..
Who does that??????????? and what would you do??? and how do they disinfect the pool after that??? im still feeling pukey... UGHHH wouldnt be so bad if we werent going in a few days!!!!!

My guess would be a child had an accident. I would hope they shock the pool and run the filter for a good day before allowing guests back in it - just to cover 'sanitation' rules. But the normal checmicals they use daily should be just fine.

Not for nothing but I am sure the pools get peed in daily! Do they evacuate for that? Nope...cause no one can see it! Nor will they fess up to it!

Yep, that is disgusting, but it can happen at any of the resort pools. Especially the resorts where more children are staying, but can be at ANY resort.

I wouldn't worry about it. I'm sure they disinfect the pool, they don't want guests becoming ill.

Hope you have a great time when you go!!

Luckily, that's never happened when we were there, but I have heard that it happens occasionally.

Someone reported this just a couple of days ago happening at one of the moderates and I know I read it a month ago happening at one of the deluxes. Accidents happen with babies/children. They shut down the pool while it was taken care of.

Are you sure they wernt shooting the new Caddyshack movie?? :rotfl2: With so many kids visiting DW, I'm sure it happens more often then you think

Well unfortunately it does happen and most likely it's a child. I am not squeamish at all so it would not have bothered me (the specimen part). From what I understand is they evacuate the pool and put additional chemicals in. I don't know for how long as this has never happened at our resort while we were staying there. Like the PP stated, I am sure as well that people urinate in the pool all the time. I always tell my DS13 to keep his mouth closed. Now he knows why.:lmao:

Happens all the time, at all the resort pools. I've been at resort pools that had to be shut down due to an 'accident' and also from someone being 'sick' in the pool. It's no biggie. The pool is closed down for a certain amount of time...they 'clean' out the offending matter, then wait until all levels are where they need to be and then reopen the pool.
I seriously doubt that anyone purposely uses the pool as their 'bathroom'...most accidents happen to kids.

oh yuck! but as everyone has said, sure it happens a lot. I'm still trying not to throw up after I found a fly in my salad yesterday from a salad bar.....now that's pretty gross too!

Babies and children do that, and it happens at EVERY pool that children and babies swim in. It's gross, but it happens all the time.

Having worked at a pool I can tell you that this is extremely common - happens at least every couple of days depending on the number of visitors. Standard procedure is to clear the pool, fish out the foul substance and then shock the pool with chlorine.

grossest thing I have ever seen was once I took my kids to a local hotel for a night of fun as it had a pool and waterslide etc. There was a family there that had a girl about 12 who was mentally handicapped, everyone could see that she had pooped in her bathing suit, which I know can happen, she went up to her Dad and showed him, he looked in her bathing suit, told her that was gross and then proceded to send her into the hot tub, I can see that accidents happen but for the father to do that, now that was gross. Needless to say we left the pool area and went to our room.:scared1:

DD and family just returned from a week at CSR. One night she was in the hot tub and DSIL told her to get out of the hot tub now. She didn't know what was going on...turns out a kid was in the hot tub with a towel around his arm and blood leaking out all into the water. It was after the lifeguard went off duty but DSIL went to the desk and reported it. By the time he got back to the hot tub there was a manager and 2 workers there but the bleeding kid had left. Guess you just have to be aware everywhere you go these days.

I saw an "unexpected maintainance" sign at the POP pool in March & it for that very reason- someone pottied in the pool. I'm sure that it happens way more than I'd like to think about.

Happens all the time, when we were there last December they closed the pool for something that happened, pool chemicals are pretty strong, if you think about it the water in a pool never gets changed, they only fill up a pool when the water evaporates..... but thats why they use chemicals to take care of any bacteria that may be "floating" around.

It does happen occasionally.

The pools are so big and they keep the water well chlorinated that germs, microbes and whatnot can not live in that water very long.
