Got to the HOT SEAT on Millionaire 10/16!

Congratulations hightown!

Thank you for sharing your experiences! I would love to be in the hot seat sometime! I just know that some obscure question would get me! You should be extremely proud of yourself!

Lori! Yes we made it home. Flight smooth and time went quickly. Callie was wanting to take the medallion to school today--tell everyone there "Guess what..."

So fun knowing you and other disers were there. Would love to see someone win (I'm ineligable for a year)!

CONGRATS!!!

Our family has won regular prizes 32,000 pts and under a number of times but the BIG WIN hasn't happened yet....Very Exciting for you....

The black woman's name is Al-ja (phonetically). She is wonderful we have had her as a Host a few times.....

Congrats on the win!!!!

Not to burst your bubble, but watch out for that 1099 for the IRS come January. From what I understand they WAAAY overvalue their prizes and really stick it to you in the tax department.

I read somewhere that the 32K or 64K prizes (don't remember which) were valued on the 1099 someone receive as almost $1000. (A shirt, a hat, and some pins)

Cool and way to go! Of course now we have to wait for your trip report when you come back from the cruise.;)

We have never recieved a 1099 for any of the smaller prizes we have won...we have won 10 times in the hot seat and never recieved a 1099

Wow good for you. Enjoy your cruise! Gina

I've never received an actual 1099 either. I think there is something in all the paperwork they give you after the show that talks about the value, but it was nothing near the $1000 someone mentioned, and I've never bothered reporting it to the IRS. Now, if I ever won a cruise, I'm sure that would have to be reported!

That is so awesome! WOW a millionaire winner! Makes me want to go to Disney World again and make sure DH and I take a turn, but I bet we won't do as well as you did (although I have hope, my fingers are crossed)!

Too cool! Congratulations!

When do you go on the cruise? You will definitely have to post your free cruise experience when you return.

The paper work listed the value of the prizes you take with you as $654 or something close to that so I'll probably get the 1099 on that this year. I remember the pins were valued at $189.

On the cruise, I don't think that comes until you take it because they don't know how many travelers so they can't give a value. I'm sure it's valued just like what you could book it for. I'll deal with the taxes though!

Don't know when we'll schedule the cruise but thinking about May 05. The biggest problem I have right now is that there's a chance my job may move to St. Louis and until work can give me some indication of if that is happening and when, I am afraid to give Disney the departure city!

Anyway, still very excited and will be something new and fun to plan!

To hockey mom- I was in the 10:30am show on the 10/14. Thanks for the audience help on the Mamma Mia question. I had no idea.
I missed on the question about Charles Limburgh's aircraft, which cartoon character was on the plane? A) I forget-do you remember? B) Felix the cat, C)Popeye, and D) Hagar the Horrible

I used my last lifeline, phone a stanger and was hoping for an older male to answer the phone to help me. I got a girl that sounded pretty young who couldn't help me. I guessed Popeye. answer was Felix the Cat.

hightown- Did you make it all the way to the 1,000,000 in one show? I wondered what they do if you run out of time in that show. Do they let you come back for the next show or just keep going? Were you the 1st one in the HOT SEAT for your show? I was second. My husband was 8th on the board when I got to go play. Then he had to juggle my 3 girls and could hardly pay attention to my questions. :earsgirl:

Pam, I was second in the hot seat for that show. I think the man who was first missed around the 16,000 point as I know he got the hat.

Finished my round in one show and I would think the show ended shortly after I and family went backstage. I would think if you haven't gotten out when the show ends, you can come back to the next or maybe they just extend the show till you win or loose.

When I got to the hot seat, my daughter (age 10) was third on the board. She copies me on what she doesn't know. So next trip, I'll still do my entries but maybe she'll make it to the hot seat! I'll still be in the 30 day ban on hot seat.

Congratulations on your win !!!! how awesome for you !!!!

I can't wait to go see this show !!! It sounds like so much fun! are there any secrets in getting to the elusive "hot seat"?!?!?:hyper:
