We decided to do our own make shift B2B Dec 26-29 on Dream, then dec 30- Jan 4 Destiny, Both out of Port Everglades.
Dream: Oure post feedback was not a lot of other activities going on. For example...at 830 - it was the show in the WD Theatre. No other options like trivia..etc. So for us sailing many times and skipping 2 of the 3 shows, it was some slow evenings, which is ok.
Made me love the Dream/Fantasy adult area all over again. So much better than the new class back of boat area. Less kids walking through all day long,. But i love the bar, seating in the pool and the hot tub right there, not down the edge under the aquamouse hearing the last line of the ride, over and over again.
I won't say much more about the Dream as we enjoyed the 3 day. Good service minus one issue when we went to palo and the servers never waited on my two kids in Enchanted Garden, so i had to go down and see what was happening, they said they just didn't realize they were there as the tables got shifted and this position for our table 75 was not in the normal spot.
The fun horn battel...at first in Nassau at 725 am was quite rough and woke everyone up as the Fantasy and Dream did a horn battle. but when we departed at 5pm they did it again and was able to enjoy it. so double horn battle!

Destiny
some random thoughts:
Cask and Cannon was never really busy. Thought/feared it would be with the pirate theme, but it wasn't every except during the college playoff game. it had odd hours, some days 2, some days 6.
I'm a big rum guy. I collect rum. I buy expensive rum, so i was excited to try this bar. I was disappointed in two things. The smoke gun for the "treasure chest drink" was broken, so very lame presentation. The smoke really makes it. Also, the menu listed a rare 30 year old rum from Bacardi exclusive to Disney. They still don't have it. But overall good rum selection, great drinks.
Sanctum is cool - great and one of the few places to get drinks all day long, but always crowded with trivia or some activity.
De Vils - very cool, but teh allure of cruella coming, keeps it crowded. I like the bar on the other 2 ships where it's piano entertainment, but not a must do so doesn't stay packed all the time. We did wait inside - and buying drinks for aobut 90 minutes for cruella show. But about 20 min before the 915 show, half the place was empty so coulda easily walked in. i did see the 515 performance always had a line in the hallway. and they dont allow standing, so once it's full, they shut the door. The show was fun but a one and done.

Restaurants
Marvel - was not boat/ant man show but rather the Groot Mix jam trivia night, that was the 2nd dinner on Treasure. i prefer this to the Ant Man show.
Pride of Lion kings. To me it was "meh". unlike frozen or cocoa where it's characters, this was basically a band/performance singing songs. I told my wife it was like going to a jazz or dinner club where a musician played hit songs but we ate and didn't pay attention. This menu was hit or miss. my kids (17 and 21_) did not like it. I thought it was ok. Deserts not good.

our stateroom host was amazing. Best we've had in years.
Dinner service
our main server was great and running around doing everything, because his asst server did nothing. We often didn't even see her til 30 min after we sat down. AFter night one, in the past, my kids drink of choice - coke zero or coke would be on the table for them, adn we saw that for many tables, but not our groups. She never had the drinks on our table when we arrived. Service was so bad with her, we had to finally complain and the head server said, well she's only been with us 2 months, give it time. It was bad. Very bad. the worst ever.
Pool Deck bartenders
this was a mess outside of cover bar. At Currents - deck 14 bar or what ever it's name is. the bartenders struggled to make common drinks. Pretty much every drink i ordered was made wrong, for example a mai tai. Bartender had to ask the other bar tender what's in, she put in OJ, Pineapple and i stopped her at grenadine...none of those are in a mai tai. I got the "infinity swirl" that is on the menu, it boasts selvyn ray white rum and dos maderas 5 5 dark rum. .He grabbed myers dark only and made it with that. i quested where's the selvyn and he said we're out up here and what about the dos maderas 5 5, he said oh yeah and made it a floater. So no white rum at all. These are only 2 examples, but i ran into this multiple times at the pool bars. Was not an issue on the Dream

The highlight of the cruise: Hercules. AMAZING> The muses and hercules were the best Broadway talent i've seen! and i go to NY for broadway. Hades was a broadway actor as well and he was great. Also highlight - Maleficient at various points around the cruise and loki. Don't miss the loki "king" event on day one of the cruise. It only happens once~! Palo was fantastic as well.

we did get lucky on NYE and the Dream joined us along side so we had dual fireworks at midnight.

Lots of earning my ears tags. Folks are getting trained to go to Adventure in singapore. Overall the growth of these 3 new ships plus adventure has been mass hiring, giving them a pool of workers not up to the level of service i've come to expect after 24 cruises, and for the price we pay.

Happy to answer any questions you may have.

Did Disney transfer you the destiny after the dream cruise?

I was wondering also about how the process was between going from ship to ship.
It looks like OP got off one ship one day and got on the other ship the next day, so these questions don't really apply in that situation.

In cases where people are doing a side-to-side (getting off one ship and getting on another ship at the same port on the same day), DCL has organized transportation between the two. There are some reports of this on this board, with varying levels of ease/clarity.

We were on the Dream with you...had a great time as always! :thumbsup2

My only complaint was the nightly music trivia was at 7:45 (other ships recently its been 7:30). Not only did we have to leave before they announced the winner but we were late for dinner. Although DH and DS did stay while I ran to dinner the first night as we were in the running to win.

"Cask and Cannon was never really busy. ... it had odd hours, some days 2, some days 6."

Could you clarify the recollection on the hours? Did you mean to say on some days it opened at 2pm and other days it opened at 6pm?

Also, I'm curious as a rum aficionado would you recommend the rums they had on the Cask/Cannon menu that were over 20yrs?
I learned in Key West, back when the Rum Barrel was in existence, that my preference for rum is one that legally old enough to drink itself.
:jester:

Thanks so much for your insights! :cutie:

ours was not a true B2B. So it was treated as 2 separate sailings. Same if you did B2B when they are both in port. It's not a true b2b so you board just like a normal cruise. This will happen 7 times with Dream and Destiny at port everglades at the same time. But you have to get off with all your luggage. And you enter a different terminal.

yes. On embakration day it opened at noon. Next day was a sea day. it opened at 2. both days on Castaway and Lookout it opened at 6pm. Then i think noon on next sea day as it was big football day.

as far as the rums: The sample of the 3 for $40 a 5/8 and 22 were very good. and worth it. The rest are up to you on taste. Selvay Owners Reserve was THE BEST i had in there and only $17. I think because they had rum, many bars had some of the rums around the ship like Flora De Cana 25 - at only $17 is a great deal. They had a Brugal $400 rum i did not try. The Brugal Visionaro which is a dark chocolate rum was there and at Sanctum. i had it neat, but added 2 small ice cubes and it was good. Teh Brugal Burning man is a "SPICY RUM" aged in pepper barrels. very hot. i had it as an old fashion just to try it. They did get a new rum in ...a PUssers rum in a very fance bottle..however the bottle was the only thing good about the rum. it was the normal blue label rum that is $29 at the store, in a very fancy ceramic bottle - but they were charging $75 a pour. So that was a no go. But i'm educated, others might think it s good. Hook barbery did have two rums. i've had one, the cheaper one., but dind't have the one at $175. i am blanking on the brand.

DeVil's must depend on who is working there. Because they allowed standing when I was there.

Also- I loved Pride Lands. While the food was eh, I l loved the performance (but then again, I love Lion King music)
