...after they get off the Maelstrom ride? DH and I do. We mean no disrespect, we just would rather go on rides than watch a movie. I am sure that I saw it once, when I went with my parents many, many years ago (my mom is full blooded Norweigian) but I am just not interested...So when the doors open to go in, we walk past the seats, and exit.

Yea me and my family walk through it also, its nothing against them. Its just we have just seen it already.

Yes I do and i always get the feeling I am getting dirty looks from those sitting down :rotfl2: Next time I think I will sit and watch, I just never seem to have the time on my commando schedule (MENTAL NOTE: make time to smell the roses...)

About the only people who don't seem to skip the movie is first-timers. I think now the Cast Members tell Guests exiting the ride that if they don't want to see the movie, just continue on out the doors on the other side of the theater.

That said, I think I shocked a CM this past trip. I can't get in and out of low vehicles easily anymore :( so I asked if I could JUST go in and watch the movie! By the way, yes, I could and did. I figure this makes up for all the times I skipped it after riding Maelstrom.

I've seen it once, so we keep walking after the ride. I don't even think they expect everyone to stay, it is optional. If they really wanted everyone to see it they would make you watch it before the ride. I wish they had the same option in the Universe of Energy in Epcot. :earboy2:

Every couple times, I feel guilty, so we sit and watch. It's really not a bad movie - and not that long, either. And, oddly, those hideous uncomfortable looking seats are actually pretty comfortable.

I figure, Norway is one of only 2 countries that spent the money to create a "ride" in World Showcase, so they deserve a few minutes to show my appreciation.

Unfortunatly even though my husbands family have lived in England for years will still have a Norweigian surname and he makes me and the kids sit through it every time. Then we sit and listen to him babble on about his ancestors..........................

We regularly skip it, and we ride Maelstrom at least a half dozen or so times in a week. My dh and I did watch it on our honeymoon last year because he's never seen it. And, we've committed to watching all the movies during out Jan. trip just because we've never watched tham all in one trip before.

I don't think it's disrespectful at all to just quietly walk through the theater before the movie starts.

I have skipped the movie many times after the ride. But in past trips, we've skipped the ride all together. Now I think I'd like to ride it, but I'm PG and probably not allowed to.

Hi,

My husband and I do this also. We have seen the movie in the past but we do not believe it is the best use of our time any longer.

If I'm going with people who haven't seen it before, I'll stop if they are interested (and sometimes even if they aren't very interested because I believe it's important to try new things). But my Dh and I have seen it a couple times, so we walk right by. Some CM have made an announcement that says that's fine while others give us the stink eye. Go figure!

We always skip it as well. I wish there was a way to just walk out immediately instead of waiting for them to open the doors to the theater.

We skip it too. And we think it STINKS that you are TRAPPED untill the end of the currently playing movie untill you can GET OUT. love the ride though!

Have to be the voice of dissention here. I love that movie and watch it just about everytime we ride! DH wins sometimes and pulls me through the theatre. He's got 100# on me, so he wins if he really wants to, but usually I sit through it. I really love it!
