Got Pixie Dust? A June 2009 PTR ~TR Link, Page 180

Hmmmm, let's see, just this past Thursday we watched from the pavilion in front of Italy, so far this is my favorite spot. I have heard that the actual front of the show is at the shops as you enter WS but it is always crazy crowded there.

Ohhhh, I am so jealous that this past Thursday you were watching Illuminations.

There is no way I will be part of the crazy crowd on the other side of WS! Thanks for weighing in -- Italy does seem to be winning. :goodvibes

Mouse gears is also my favorite shop on property!! I love those spring pictures, they are awesome!

Thank you! I always find my favorite Disney souvenirs in Mousegears.

Great list! I LOVE EPCOT so I'll be reading, rereading, and re-rereading this part of your TR. :rotfl:

I haven't seen Illuminations yet (:headache: ) so I can't tell you where a good viewing spot is. But I've heard that Germany, Italy, Mexico, and Lower UK are some great spots to see it.

Some other news though. I don't know if you've heard this, but according to my Unofficial Guide, Disney is planning to replace Illuminations later this year (sometime this fall) with something called Skydance. :scared1: I'm not positive it's true, but I just wanted to share this tidbit with you.

Hmmm, I hadn't heard that about Illuminations being replaced -- that would be all the more reason for me to insist that we see it this year. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks for the viewing spot ideas.

I always love writing about Epcot -- although, I must confess that if it is WDW related I love writing about it.

Okay so thank you for posting this drink list :yay: I had no idea these things existed... So what about your Gran Marnier slushy? Where does one get that? And the The Grey Goose, OMGoodness, :goodvibes -- sounds heavenly. I love frozen lemonade with a kick! Is that one in France, too? I have to make a "Drink Map"!

What a great idea! A drink map! Maybe I will draw flags on my Passporter maps! :lmao:

I may still get a Grand Marnier slushy but since our tangierine daiquiris are also orange-flavored, I didn't want to overdo the orange.

RE your location for Illuminations, just happens I read last night that the Rose and Crown is an ideal spot to see the show, anywhere along their patio area... I don't know the lay of the land well enough but that might be a good place to consider?

We didn't shop really at all the last time we were at Epcot, didn't even get into Japan or China at all.. so this time, most definitely! :thumbsup2

Thanks for the wonderful tips! :)

Will definitely consider the Rose and Crown patio -- I debated making our reservation for dinner a later one, but we don't do well when we don't eat at a normal time.

You must go to the Japanese and Chinese stores -- they are so neat! Connor's favorite swords have come from those two stores, and Chelsea always finds jewelry that she likes there.

OMG, CP the flowering trees in your yard are GORGEOUS!!!! :goodvibes

What wonderful sign of spring, huh?

I love your list for Epcot. I mean, I love Epcot, and you've just hit the nail on the head here. MouseGears, shopping in Japan, henna tattoos.

Can I come? :lmao:

Thank you! When the trees finally bloom, I know that spring is here!

Come on -- we would have a blast shopping in World Showcase and getting henna tattoos! :goodvibes

I LOVE the idea of using the tiles from Morocco in your kitchen, what a neat idea!

Thank you! I thought of it as soon as I got home last year and kicked myself for not getting them while we were there -- it was the first thing that went on my souvenir wish list.

Your trees are gorgeous, I just looked out in our backyard and the jonquils decided to make their appearance during our trip but are still very pretty too!

I need a little more clarification on the Tangierine daiquiris.....do they come in flavors?
I'm up for trying the Grey Goose slushy as well! Just the ticket for a hot June evening..
:goodvibes

Thank you!

The Tangierine daiquiris just come in one flavor -- an orangy, tangerine-type flavor. They are soooo good. Charles and I had to get two last year! Grey Goose and Illuminations in the summer -- sigh -- total bliss! :cloud9:

What a beautiful flowering tree! I love it!

I am SO happy that Spring is here.

Your Epcot plans sound wonderful. I love the idea of decorating your kitchen based on the Moroccan tiles!

First of all I cant tell you how jealous I am that that beautiful tree is blossoming in your yard and we still have temperatures in the 40s here. I really need to relocate!

Second, I totally want to eat every snack on your list and drink every alcoholic beverage as well...the rides sound good too but the others caught my eye right away at the moment. I'm stressed, what can I say? ;):lmao:

Hi Jackie!! I've been reading your PTR and other TRs!! I am a huge planner as well so this is a lot of fun for me (I've even started my own PTR)!! My family and I are going to Disney May 16-23 and will be staying at the Poly. We will celebrate our 10th wedding anniversary and it will be my dd's 1st trips.

Beautiful pictures of the trees! :goodvibes

I've heard such great things about the grey goose slushies - guess I may have to try one on this trip. ;)

Just an FYI - there's a jewelry stand in DTD that I think has a better selection for getting Chelsea's pearl set.

Look at those lovely flowering trees! I am so ready for Spring. :cloud9:

Welsh Dragon, eh? That sounds like it would pair very nicely with Fish N' Chips. :lmao:

Yes, you MUST try school bread. It's divine!

Beautiful trees Jackie. I am so thankful Spring is here. We spent the whole weekend outside doing yardwork.

Please send me a copy of your beverage map after it is complete :lmao:

I enjoyed a visit to AKL in your honor last week. It is beautiful. I got some decent giraffe shots. There was a lot of racket going on at the flamingo pond. Whether they were arguing or just partying, I do not know, as I do not speak the native flamingo language. It was interesting to watch them.

The zebra domes come five in a pack. My friend split them 2 1/2 apiece. Every morsel was delicious. They said they would make more when you get there.

I met some guy right inside the gates of HS who had a message for Chelsea. He said, "Hey, Chelsea!"
Seems like he knew her, so maybe she'll know who he was.

I've got to go teach.
I have put it off as long as I can this morning by giving them lots of morning work and putting on my Mouse World radio. They are working to the music of Main Street. I have to turn it off and start teaching them every little thing they will know to make marvekous scores on the TCAP test in a few weeks.

Have a god day, CP and family. Disney World fun awaits you very soon!

You trees are BEAUTIFUL!!!!!

I was so in love with diagramming sentences when I was younger too!!! We are such English geeks!!! ;o)

I love all your plans in EPCOT---you make me want to be there shopping with you----especially in Morocco!!! I think you will really like Illuminations---it just has that wonderful, warm and fuzzy, global peace, happiness to it! Take a tissue!

Aww Jackie...I love the lists and I saw a few things I want to try!! Illuminations is awesome!! We watched on the bridge between France and England and it was a great view...no trees to obstruct and it was just simply amazing I loved it!!!!

Great update!!

I am so loving your gorgeous spring photos. I am so sick of the cold and drearyness around here it's not even funny. They give me hope that spring is on the way.

I so want to get a henna tatoo this year. Between you and TK, my list of to-do stuff for December is getting longer and longer on a daily basis! ;)

I am so glad the warm weather is finally here -- cold just makes me so miserable.

Thanks! The trick will be picking out which tiles to get.

One of the perks of living in the south are our early springs -- of course, the summers are awfully hot.

:rotfl:I don't have stress as an excuse and I want all of that stuff. ;)

My family and I are going to Disney May 16-23 and will be staying at the Poly. We will celebrate our 10th wedding anniversary and it will be my dd's 1st trips.

:welcome: You are going to just love the Poly!!! Charles and I stayed there in 1995 and loved every minute of it.

Beautiful pictures of the trees! :goodvibes

I've heard such great things about the grey goose slushies - guess I may have to try one on this trip. ;)

Just an FYI - there's a jewelry stand in DTD that I think has a better selection for getting Chelsea's pearl set.

Okay, you try a Grey Goose in four days ;) and then come back here with your opinion. FOUR DAYS! I am so jealous!

Thanks for the DTD tip -- that might be a better place to stop for us. :thumbsup2

Yes, you MUST try school bread. It's divine!

The only downside to all the gorgeous blooming stuff is that my allergies are making me miserable -- my eyes are constantly watering. :headache:

See, I think a Welsh Dragon with fish and chips sounds divine!

I will be trying the school bread -- Connor was reading my list last night and mentioned that he would really like to go to the Norway bakery -- I think he thinks there are viking and troll-themed pastries there.

I am not very big on yardwork, but I did send Charles out to make the yard look decent. That counts, right? ;)

I will send along my beverage map when it is completed.

Oh, I can't wait to see the photos!

:rotfl::lmao::rotfl2: With flamingos there is no telling -- it very well could have been a party that turned into an all out brawl.

The zebra domes come five in a pack. My friend split them 2 1/2 apiece. Every morsel was delicious. They said they would make more when you get there.

Whew! Glad to know they are going to make more before I visit -- gotta have my zebra domes. I do appreciate your unselfishness in sampling those zebra domes for me. You are a true friend. :goodvibes

I met some guy right inside the gates of HS who had a message for Chelsea. He said, "Hey, Chelsea!"
Seems like he knew her, so maybe she'll know who he was.

Oh, yeah, she knows him ;). I am glad to know that Bo still thinks of Chelsea even though he sees thousands of girls everyday.

I hope all of your darlings were quiet and well-behaved today so you could recuperate from all the fun you had.

That fun for us is only 75 days away now!!!

Thank you!

English geeks unite! You would have loved what we did in 8th grade today -- we started research projects on the etymology of various abstract nouns.

Let's go shopping in Epcot -- we would have such a great time!

Definitely bringing tissue for Illuminations -- you know what a sap I am, Jen! :goodvibes

Aww Jackie...I love the lists and I saw a few things I want to try!! Illuminations is awesome!! We watched on the bridge between France and England and it was a great view...no trees to obstruct and it was just simply amazing I loved it!!!!

Great update!!

Thank you! I am so looking forward to Illuminations! Did you take photos during it? I am trying to decide if I want to attempt them or just soak it all in.

I am so loving your gorgeous spring photos. I am so sick of the cold and drearyness around here it's not even funny. They give me hope that spring is on the way.

I so want to get a henna tatoo this year. Between you and TK, my list of to-do stuff for December is getting longer and longer on a daily basis! ;)

Spring is coming your way -- soon, very soon! :flower3:

Get the henna -- I love the smell of it even!

Well, I actually think it's 9 days until we're at Epcot. :rolleyes1 Where exactly can I buy one? :confused3 I know someone has told me before, but I've forgotten.

Four days -- nine days -- still a lot closer than my 75. ;)

They are at a kiosk in France -- out towards the lagoon. I remember passing them last year, but it was only 11 in the morning so I must have deemed it too early for drinking. :lmao: Then, when we passed it again that night on the way out, I had already had my quota for the day.

I believe the only alcohol I have had in Disney World was my Guinness at Raglan Road. So, this will be a first for me - drinking in the parks! :rotfl: I'll be sure to get some pictures and post my review. :goodvibes

How long do the henna tattoes last? Sounds like fun.

What colors were the Morocan tiles? My kitchen is yellow w/red and black accents. Could I maybe steal your idea?:flower3: I have a bare nekkid soffit that could use some beautifying. Were they pricey?

They last about ten days -- Chelsea and I both got one last year -- it was lots of fun.

Megablocks actually had a picture of the tiles posted in her last update. I think they would look great in a red and black kitchen. They were so reasonably priced in my opinion -- $4.75 each or 4 for $16.00. They are the larger tiles also -- not the small ones.

Hi! I think the idea to renovate/redecorate your kitchen around these tiles sounds like such a great idea. :thumbsup2 It makes the whole planning easier if you have a theme centered around an anchor, like these tiles would provide. Before we moved into our house, I had the interior painted, and I used the new entry way rug that I bought to help me pick the colors. It created a great scheme to work from ... good for you ! HDTV look out! I also have a disney inspired bathroom... We bought prints from the 40th anniversary of The Tiki Room, and I framed these for the boys bathroom. All these crazy pop-art colors, it is so fun! I am sure you will come away with some great tiles, and this make such a great way to capture memories too :)
