Got Pixie Dust? A June 2009 PTR ~TR Link, Page 180

Haven't seen the movie in France maybe we'll do it this time! I really want to do the Kim Possible adventure!

Excellent Epcot list! Reading about how you feel about Soarin' brings back some great memories for me. :goodvibes

Our Epcot Must-Do Rides and Attractions

Right now we will be visiting Epcot more than any other park. We have two full days planned there and with park hoppers we may find ourselves over there at other times, too.

It's good to see another person LOVE Epcot as much as I do. Most people are all about Magic Kingdom.. which I highly love too.. its my second fav. but my first favorite is Epcot.. :goodvibes

When I type out the list of what we want to do in Epcot, it doesn’t seem very long. I know that is deceiving though since World Showcase alone will take almost an entire day.

Future World
  • Soarin’, Soarin, Soarin’: front row, middle row, back row – it doesn’t matter to me. As long as Putty tells me where to stow my loose articles, and I get to smell oranges and buzz the aircraft carrier, I will be in my own little spot of heaven.
  • Living with the Land: I want to see the Mickey pumpkins this year.
  • Spaceship Earth: This is quintessential Epcot to me: Rome burning, yellow go-go boots, and the advance of time.
  • Mission: SPACE: Some people in my family like getting their guts spun into cotton candy while trying to successfully stage a landing on Mars. I will be in Mousegears.
  • Test Track: Nothing beats speeding around a curve after nearly colliding with a semi. ;)
  • The Living Seas with Nemo and Friends: Maybe.

Great list of ideas... I plan to do them all except for Mission: Space.. I don't like the filling of my guys being "spun into cotton candy" hehe  Although, I've been debating trying the NEW moderate version.. idk yet.

World Showcase
To us, World Showcase is just one big attraction. We love strolling through all the shops and just soaking in the atmosphere. Most of the things we like to do there will be saved for the next post, but there are a few “attractions” we want to make sure we see and do.

I AGREE-I AGREE!! Just walking through everything and browsing.. and the feeling that it creates is amazing. There is this city in MI- that me and my DH love because its a sister city to a city in germany and its soo festive and wonderful- a lot of people hate it- but just being there makes me soo happy, relaxed and wonderful! :goodvibes

  • Kim Possible Adventure: I am so excited about this one. Everything I read about it makes it sound like something my children are going to absolutely eat up.
  • Gran Fiesta: A cute boat ride. We enjoy just relaxing and digesting our churros as Donald’s friends search for him. (Never done this..I'll look into it - I'll add it to my list of new things to try.. )
  • Maelstrom: Connor loves this ride – the rest of us like it as well. Any boat ride that goes backwards very briefly and passes trolls gets a thumbs up from the CP family.
  • O Canada: I haven’t seen any of the Epcot films since my first visit there 26 years ago. However, this trip there are a couple that we need to experience. The first one is the Canadian film. Recently Connor has become fascinated with all things Canadian so he really wants to watch the film. (Last time I was there- we seen the film for Canada.. it was actually pretty neat.. I think I would of liked others more.. the scenes they showed were beautiful.)
  • Impressions de France: The other film we need to watch this year is the French film. While Connor has developed an obsession with everything north of the United States, Chelsea adores anything and everything having to do with France. We will be stopping to watch this film as well. Perhaps I could take a Grand Marnier slushy in with me?

GREAT IDEAS..GREAT CHOICES! :thumbsup2

Your Epcot list looks great! I love Soarin too. I just hope I am able to get a fast pass for the ride. The line is always so long. BTW, I teach 4th (the writing portfolio year here in KY) and my husband teaches 8th grade math. We have never been on the boat ride in Mexico and I think we will need to give it a try this year.

I teach 4th grade too! Don't you just love 9/10 year olds?
:cutie: :scared1: :cutie:

CP, we ride the green version of Mission Space. It has no spinning and is quite fun! It also seems that the line is never as long as for the orange intense mission.:goodvibes

Psssssst, Jen, I think you should try the green! CP I think you should too!

CP your Epcot list is great! :thumbsup2

The best idea on the whole list though is the Grand Marnier slushy!

Sounds like MUCH Epcot fun!!!! I saw something on the Kim Possible thing yesterday on the Disney Channel, and it looked like it would be SO much fun for the kids!!! I am not sure it will be on Megan's level yet or not, so PLEASE give me the heads up when you return!!! I think she is still on the Kidcot Funstop level!!!

I am sure you can find a way to smuggle in that yummy slushie!!!! Just don't slurp too loud or you will get caught!!!! ;o)

My friend, Amara, who is down there right now, did the Kim Possible with her girls yesterday and posted pics on her FB page. Her girls are 8 and 6 and they looked like they were having a blast!

I will slurp quietly. ;)

Did you read (I think it was in allears newsletter) that they've already changed the Kim Possible attraction so that you can continue on with another mission without having to go back to a kiosk? :cool1:

There's so much I want to do at Epcot that it's a bit overwhelming.

I did see that in allears which was great -- I am glad we have so much time planned in Epcot so we can do more missions if we want.

Epcot can be overwhelming, I agree. I find MK more overwhelming for some reason though -- I think because there seem to be so many more rides there.

CP, I have to tell you that I am nearly as excited for your trip as I am for my own. I can't wait to hear all about your Disney adventures. Your Epcot lists look great!

Ahhh, thanks, LL! I am super excited for your trip, too! I am sure we are both going to have a great time!

Great Lists!! You guys are going to have a blast at EPCOT!!! I just adore that park and I can't wait to hear all about Connor and Chelsea's adventures there!!!!

The Kim Possible thing looks like a lot of fun...I hate to admit it...okay I really don't...but I love that show...especially Ron Stoppable...I'm such a Ron character and the naked mole rat...Rufus...man I want a Rufus..okay I'm rambling LOL

Great list CP...can't wait to hear more!

Chelsea and Connor revel in whatever park they are in -- their enthusiasm is so contagious!

We are all Kim Possible fans at our house -- even Charles has been known to get sucked into episodes from time to time. :lmao:

Chelsea packing made me laugh. Yesterday was a day off (and we are going to visit my brother on Saturday) so Daniel and I packed his clothes then he picked out the books and toys he want to bring. When he was finished, he put on his backpack and said "I'm ready, let's go!) Poor kiddo wasn't too happy when he realized he had to wait another 2 days to go visit his favorite cousin!

I cannot wait to hear how your kids like the Kim Possible thing in Epcot. Everytime it comes on the Disney Channel, my kids start asking when we are going back so they can do that!

Yep CP, we are raising them right :rotfl2:

Katie, hope you are having/had a great time this weekend! Daniel is so cute wanting to leave right then and there.

From the pictures I have seen of the Kim Possible adventure, it is super cool!

Go first thing to get your Soarin' fast passes, that's for sure. The one year I made the grave mistake of doing stand-by, we were in that line FOREVER! Charles even slept standing against a wall.

The Mexican boat ride reminds me of It's a Small World in many ways without the song.

Hey, us too! I didn't even know it was there! CP, you are so right about Epcot having so much to just soak in and enjoy... especially in the World Show Case... I can't wait to go back and do this!

I am ready to pack and leave today -- I can't wait to be back down there!

I know, I know! It's impossible to see and do everything in Epcot in only two days!! I love your lists!

Kathy

We did pretty well last year with two days there, but my ideal vacation down there would be about two weeks in length -- then I might be able to see everything we want to do.

Will you be doing Turtle Talk with Crush???

I hadn't planned on it -- it always seems geared towards smaller kids -- should we? What do you think, Heidi?

I can't wait for Epcot! I can't wait to try out the Kim Possible Adventure - that's great that you can continue on with a new mission without returning to the kiosk. :thumbsup2

The trick will be getting my kids to move on -- they are such game junkies that they will probably want to do it all day long. :rotfl:

Absolutely, come on over, I'm still trying to get the packing done.......and of course you may tag along:goodvibes
We are planning Kim Possible next week, it sounds like so much fun!
Pssssst, I pack like Charles........
:lmao: :rotfl2: :lmao:

You are probably on your way right now! I hope you have a super awesome time!

What a great list so far! I absolutely adore EPCOT so when you're there, I'll be wigging out. If Chelsea is obsessed with France, you should send her to look up Je suis une pizza on youtube. It's really cute.:cutie:
Can't wait for more!

Thank you! I will look up that youtube clip for Chelsea -- I am sure she will get a kick out of it! :thumbsup2

I can't wait to visit Epcot again! Your list is great. Soarin' is right near the top of my favorite Disney attractions. Sadly, I think my son may be about 1/2 inch too short to ride.:sad2: Here's praying for a quick and dramatic growth spurt in the next 3 months. Yea for Chelsea's packing enthusiasm. Could she please pass some of that organization on to my 11 year old daughter? It seems to have skipped a generation.

Pixie dust for a growth spurt! :wizard: Chelsea used to have a room that looked like a local flea market, but over the past couple of years, she has become super organized and OCD.

Next Friday, I will be Soarin'! I think I probably smile the whole time I am on that ride, and I love it when I'm with a group of first-timers and I hear all their oohs and aahs and comments. I never say a word, but for some reason I feel an immense pride and satisfaction that those people liked 'my' ride so much.

Think of Brookie when you ride Nemo. She loves Nemo!

Shopping - love it! I could spend many days looking over every single item in every single shop in every single country.

The Impressions de France movie is great. The scenery and the accompanying music are beautiful.

Have fun with all your planning.
Isn't Disney dreamin' so much fun?!?!?!?

Disney dreamin' is especially fun when I am too sick to do anything else.

I am the same way about our Soarin' ;) . My friend took her family on it yesterday and texted me afterwards. I was all "Did you love it? It's wonderful, isn't it?" I will be thinking of you next Friday soarin' over California while I am giving DOL tests. :goodvibes

Every year we say we are going to do Nemo and every year it seems to elude us. Maybe this year will be our year.

I could shop all day long in World Showcase, as well. So many neat things!

Does the French movie have seats or is it one of those where you stand like the Chinese movie?

LOVE your Epcot list!!:thumbsup2 We can't wait to try the Kim Possible adventure either! I just love Epcot, nothing like walking around World Showcase with an appropriate beverage to truly make you feel like you are on vacation!:cloud9:

I need to start working on my drink list for World Showcase! :lmao:

Haven't seen the movie in France maybe we'll do it this time! I really want to do the Kim Possible adventure!

You and David would have a blast doing the Kim Possible adventure, I am sure! :thumbsup2 You should video it!

Excellent Epcot list! Reading about how you feel about Soarin' brings back some great memories for me. :goodvibes

It's just such a wonderful ride! I love the smells, the music, the scenery -- it's all just great!

GREAT IDEAS..GREAT CHOICES! :thumbsup2

Thank you!

Psssssst, Jen, I think you should try the green! CP I think you should too!

The problem with that is that the rest of my family insists on the spinning version so I would be going on the green version by myself. It's okay, though, I love being able to shop in Mousegears by myself without being pulled in opposite directions by my two darlings. Sometimes I need quiet time when we are at the World -- too much togetherness can take its toll after a few days.

CP your Epcot list is great! :thumbsup2

The best idea on the whole list though is the Grand Marnier slushy!

Thanks! I know, right? Everytime I see a photo of the Grand Marnier slushy, I think about how I HAVE to get one this time!

I am going to give you a list of drinks to try so you can report back to me before I go!:rotfl2: Seriously, I have read AMAZING things about the gran marnier slushies at Epcot! If you are hitting Kona or Ohana (sorry I forget) get the Lapu Lapu....HEAVEN!:lovestruc I am also dying to try the Yak Attack at the Yak & Yeti!:thumbsup2 I also wanted to tell you that I plan on stealing your 100 day til Disney mickey ice cream sundaes idea:rolleyes1 We are goint to make our countdown calendar over spring break and thought we would have them on the same day!:thumbsup2 :goodvibes

Yes, recommendations would be greatly appreciated! I have been keeping a mental list of several I want to try throughout the parks and resorts. :lmao:

Steal away on the sundae idea -- it has been a great success so far -- Carissa did them recently and posted them on her TR, and my friend Amara made them the night before they left. They are really so simple but cute!

I think we will make our countdown calendar over spring break as well -- that's a good idea! :thumbsup2

I must must must get your "vacation beverage" list before I go on my trip, too! I keep hearing about all these fab items at Epcot and the Poly, and, and, and!!! :yay: SHARE!!! Please!!!! I need to write myself a list, and taste, er, check, it twice! At least twice... I have been during the food and wine festival, and that makes it easy, but where or where do you go when the options are not in little booths all over the WSC?!?

I will definitely share my wish list of drinks as I move through the parks in the next few months. I didn't have any on the MK lists since it is a "dry" kingdom. :thumbsup2

That's right! Thanks for the memory jog. Goodness gracious, I hated those things. ;)

My students don't seem very fond of them either. :rolleyes1

Looking forward to your update Jackie! :cool1: You have a great Friday too. :goodvibes

Thanks! Have you started packing yet for your trip that is one week away, Carissa? :goodvibes

OH BOY! The OTHER stuff !!!

:rotfl:

Can't wait!
popcorn::

I made my call Jackie! It was "interesting"...

I am excited to post it!

I saw your play by play -- whew! I am so glad you got what you wanted though -- that must be a relief.
