Got Pixie Dust? A June 2009 PTR ~TR Link, Page 180

The one time we tried to eat there it closed at five and it was just about five, so we headed to Pecos which is our ol' stand-by.

I am trying to decide what time for Crystal Palace -- maybe 8:15 or 8:30?

You can try for 8:05 unless that's too early. The earliest you can get the better because you can be out early too.

We did 8:05 at Crystal Palace and it was perfect. We were able to get right in, eat and be at the Fantasyland Rope Drop while taking lots and lots of pictures. :thumbsup2

I crossing my fingers tightly for you to get the early ADR at CP---PERFECT time to go!!!! Your review of Teppan Edo from last year's TR has me SO considering it for this year's trip----fighting between that and Coral Reef.......all your choices look SO yummy!

How did you like the Allstars?

I would be willing to go on a ramen noodle budget if it meant another trip to Disney! ;)

It was just OK. They had problems getting us connecting rooms for our entire stay so they had to upgrade us to the Yacht Club for the first two nights. It was hard going from the YC to ASSp! But if we had never seen the YC, then I am sure the ASSp would have been great. I am somewhat claustraphobic so it was a little cramped :crowded: with 3 adults, 5 kids and a 2 year old in two connecting rooms. That is another reason we are staying offsite - to get bigger accomodations for our money.

Our friends are checking in on June 3 so they can make ADRs starting March 5th. Any meals we eat with them they can make ADRs for us at that time. The ones we eat on our own we will have to wait until the 90 day window opens up.

You picked some great places to eat. We want to try all new places this time.

That's probably what I will aim for -- it will be nice to see the Pooh characters again, but we are really going for the food. ;)

That does sound perfect. That will be our second day at the Magic Kingdom, so Fantasyland will be our first stop.

While we liked Coral Reef in 2007, we truly adore Teppan Edo -- the shrimp there routinely calls my name...:rotfl:

That's one of my fears -- that once we stay at a deluxe again (1995 was the last time we stayed deluxe), we will be spoiled for anything else. :rotfl: Although, if I am being truly honest with myself, I don't care where I stay as long as I am at Disney.

Our goal is always to try new places, but then we end up with a couple of favorites each trip. This trip, it is Teppan Edo and Crystal Palace -- and possibly Tusker House. The rest are all new to us. :thumbsup2

FINALLY! I'm caught up.:upsidedow

Hurray! pixiedust:

I choose restaurants based on the desserts as much as the entrees. The sticky toffee pudding thing looks really good at Rose and Crown, and Beaches and Cream speaks for itself.

Just a FYI....Yorkshire pudding isn't actually a pudding and nor is it a dessert. It's like a popover (roll) served with gravy.

I probably should have known that -- I may have at one point and I have forgotten as the years advance. :rotfl:

At any rate, that sounds yummy -- too bad they took it away :(.

They both sound SO good!!!! Tom was actually talking about getting Park Hoppers this year---not sure if that will stick or not---but if we had Hoppers, we could do them both!!!! YUM!!!!

That's one of the reasons I am toying with the idea of getting hoppers -- being able to dart over to Epcot for various yummy things in the evenings (and watching Illuminations). What better way to end a day than to eat pastries in France while watching fireworks?

The accountant of course is trying to weigh out whether or not the extra $135-$140 is worth it to hop. We have really gotten good at weeding out the rides and attractions at DHS, EP, and AK that we either can't ride due to Megan or don't want to ride, and it eliminates a lot of stuff at those parks---making them all really just half day parks for us. I think he would like the hopper to hop around in the evening. He revealed to me the other night that he really likes being at the parks. He wants to do a little pool time for Megs, but he would much rather be in the parks than any where else----Do you think he is HOOKED or WHAT?!?!?!?!?!

It sounds like he is hooked. I too am on the fence about the park hoppers but I think I may just get them.

Your a dining planner.. just like me! One of the things I look forward to most is all the dining.. I feel like thats part of the fun! My DH likes that part but doesn't feel the need to help me plan because he said I do a great job.. I just ask for his input when needed. He did say that he wants to go to House of Blues though. But anywho.. it sounds good so far. I am going to start my ptr prob. today, since its like 3 1/2 months.. so I'll let you know when I have a link.. :goodvibes

Wow! I started reading your PTR....several hours ago and just now finished! I loved the whole - resort hopping delimma. I go through the exact same thing when I am planning. My favorite that I've stayed at has been WL, though I have this goal of trying out all of the resorts at one point or another. So coming up in December I am planning on staying at POFQ. I stayed at the Beach Club back when I was like, 11 years old or something, one night before my family left on a cruise, and we loved it. I thought the sand bottom pool was great. - We did not visit the World on this trip, just stayed at the resort. Anyway, I am subbing, because I am enjoying your PTR a lot. It's inspiring me to start my own, even though I have almost a year still until I go!

We always get the park hoppers............the main reason is so we can eat in WS. And I do like the freedom of being able to go to more than one park if we change our minds.

Oh, Tom is soooo hooked! Good job, Jen and Megan! ;)

If we have some extra money to splurge, I will add them -- if not, then we will survive without them.

I love, love, love eating Disney food! I want to try House of Blues -- that's the kind of food I really like, but it's not on the dining plan so we haven't done it yet.

Yes, please let me know when you start your PTR!

:welcome: I am so thrilled that you enjoyed all my madness so far! Definitely start a PTR -- it will make the time fly! We stayed at POFQ twice and love it. We adore the intimate feel of it!

I can't think of many things that top that!

My March trip will be the first that I won't have either a hopper or an AP, so it will be different. We're trying to go on a tight budget, though, so we'll be happy just to be there at all.

I think I am going to get them because the Food and Wine festival will be going on and I think we may want to go over and eat allot. My dh loves to try different foods so he will love the F&W festival.

To Hop or Not To Hop---that is SUCH a difficult question!!! I know there would be days where we wouldn't hop at all, but there would be the days that it would really come in handy too!!! I do like the flexibility of being able to add them even at the last minute!!!

Reading this also made me ponder another decision---should we bump up to an AP? My Mom has already made the comment that she wants to go back as a family in June 2010---we would be able to use them again then. MeMom---how many times do you need to use an AP for it to make fiscal sense on purchasing them? Anyone know? Jackie---you might want to eventually want to consider that too when you start thinking about the other trips already planned in your mind! Can't you always change your tickets over to an annual pass?

7day w/ PH=$297.06 (gate price)

AP= $499.50 (give or take a couple pennies)

so 2 trips... w/ PH save about $100..... if you skip the PH, you break even (or abouts)

Does that help??? I actually had just figured that out for someone else today :rotfl2:

I upgraded my tix to an AP..couple of days after I used it...no problem
