Got Pixie Dust? A June 2009 PTR ~TR Link, Page 180

Ooooohhh...I think I might really like Hope Garden although it's hard to tell with such a small sample. I wonder if they'll be in stores before I leave? :scratchin

If you get tickets with a package, you can opt for a couple of different birthday options instead -- a $75 gift card for souvenirs or fast passes for the family for the day. I would so do the gift card. Connor turns 10 this year on Sept. 19th so I have been playing around with the idea of a long weekend that month. If Chelsea is getting a big 13th birthday celebration, Connor should get something for his 10th -- right? ;)
My brother's bday is Sept 19 but he will be 31 not 10.:) I will always think of Connor now on that day too.

Oh my, those VB's are so cute! I love the purple punch! :lovestruc
I like the purple too!

Just joined in. Enjoying your PTR.popcorn:: Waiting to read more.:surfweb: Oh BTW Charleston is my favorite place :lovestruc (besides WDW). My son goes to the Citadel graduates in May. My husband an I usually go to Charleston every June for our annual honeymoon.:lovestruc This year we are saving to go back to WDW later in the year don't know what dates yet. Hurry report some more soon.:thumbsup2

Over the past two days the postman has become very popular with me. Yesterday he delivered the first of two VB hipsters that were coming my way. During dischat Saturday night the topic of VB bags for disney came up.....hmmmm was that my idea? While chatting on his own laptop dh went in search of the perfect bag for me! He ordered the hipster in "capri blue" because it just looked very Beach Club. Then I went in search of something that I thought would be more practical and found the Kensington, loved the black and browns which would look great with my khakis.
Did I read somewhere that new fabrics would be out soon? I'm going to be in soooo much trouble!

You have totally embraced your inner Vera Bradley! :thumbsup2 The Capri Blue is perfect for the Beach Club!

Did you see the link from jillyb showing the new patterns? Super cute!

It's amazing what just a few degrees distance on a map will change degrees in temperature in a place. We can leave TN and it be 40 and rainy and arrive in Orlando to 78 and sunshine. It always feels so good!

Maybe the elves could come back for a summer pre-Beach Club beach party in the living room floor on a cold winter day!

That is what happened to us during our spring break trip -- it was so wonderful to go from cold and gray to sunny and 80 in the space of seven hours!

I actually have played around with the idea of the elves coming back for one night and bringing new bathing suits and beach towels in the spring. :goodvibes

We loved when we visited in September 2006--I think it still ranks up there as our favorite time to go there so far. I DEFINITELY think the WL would just be PERFECT!!! I need to go check out the website to see if anything new is out, but I sometimes get an email too---will let you know if I see anything!

I like that they have options for you for the birthday thing in case you do the package---YEAH!!!! It will be FAR more likely that we will go there around her birthday than mine---since mine is at the beginning of the month, that is out because Tom will have monthly close meetings and reports to take care of! Good deal all around! BTW---I GOT A 40% OFF PIN CODE TODAY!!!! :cool1: :dance3: Can you think what I have been doing since then????

:rolleyes1

That's so awesome about the pin code!!! Did you play around with numbers yet?

The new patterns are linked here by jillyb -- now my wheels are a turnin'!

Hey! I read your last TR and loved it and I'm just catching up on this one. We went to Disney in Sept and were planning on going back next Sept, buuut we have a baby due now in Aug, so I'm not so sure about taking a 1mon old! I wanted to ask you, I just read the part where you took Chelsea when she was 9months old and I want to know how that was? Thanks!

:welcome: to the PTR! Congratulations on having a new baby!!! It changes your life in so many wonderful ways!

Taking Chelsea at nine months was definitely an experience -- it's been ten years, so my memory is starting to fade, but I do remember that overall we still had fun. She loved rides where there were lots of things to look at -- like it's a small world. I also remember her dancing in her stroller to the drummers in Japan. So cute! There were also a lot of times where we would find someplace where she could get out of her stroller to crawl around and stretch her legs. It's not quite as carefree as traveling without children, but rewarding in its own way. You should definitely introduce your baby to Disney World at an early age! :goodvibes

Hello, don't know how I missed this AWESOME PTR but I'm here now and caught up. GREAT START! Nala is absolutely adorable, i would have had a hard time saying no too. Hope she continues to fit into your home nicely. Have you thought about where she will go while you are in Disney?
Can't wait for more!
lesley

:welcome: Lesley! I am so thrilled that you came over here! Nala is a beastling, but then she looks at us with those big eyes and we forgive her for all her wrongdoing. How is Mickey doing these days? I bet he is getting big!

You rock! I love that purple punch pattern!

I just bought a Vera Hipster on sale on the Vera Bradley website. The discontinued colors are only $20!! :cool1:

Really? That is such a steal!!! What pattern did you get?

Oh my, those VB's are so cute! I love the purple punch! :lovestruc

Me too!

Ooooohhh...I think I might really like Hope Garden although it's hard to tell with such a small sample. I wonder if they'll be in stores before I leave? :scratchin

I bet you they will be...:rolleyes1

That's my fav too!

Decisions, decisions to make now!

My brother's bday is Sept 19 but he will be 31 not 10.:) I will always think of Connor now on that day too.

I like the purple too!

Did you know that September 19 is also National Talk Like a Pirate day as well? One of my students told me that a couple of years ago! So, between your brother, Connor and that, September 19 is a good day all around!

:welcome: Isn't Charleston just the lovliest place ever??? That is great that your son is going to the Citadel! I had lots of friends that went to there and went to lots of Friday dress parades and Bulldog football games. I would love for Connor to want to go there.

Jackie, I wanted to tell you that I just bought a new laptop case...a VB one in cafe latte! My dad had picked one out for me at Staples...it was very business-like and not cute and $32. So, while I was grateful, I went on VB.com and found wayyyy cuter ones for $22...so I got the cafe latte one. It's so cute and I thought you should know :goodvibes

Glad I could help out! :rotfl:

When do your classes start back up?

Classes start the 26th for me...I'm nervous because I've been out of school for the past semester and now I'm starting up again full force. And I'm also going to a new school, much different from my last one, so thats a bit nerve wracking too...and I take my LAST on Feb 21st! So needless to say I'm soaking in these last 3 weekends that I'll have free lol But, and you can probably vouch for this, teaching will be rewarding so it will be worth it. What grade and subject do you teach again? I know you've said it before but I'm having a brain fart! :confused3

Jackie, you are evil..................................................

I checked out the Vera Bradley site.............now I MUST have one!!!
they are soo cute!:rotfl2:

Now I just need to justify the $ to D.Jay!;)

Yes, revel in these next three weekends! You will be so busy -- you are right though -- it will be completely worth it!

I teach 6th, 7th, and 8th grades language arts.

My diabolical plans are coming to fruition!!! Muwhahaha! :stir:

Remember to point out how much money you saved on the 4/3 deal to D.Jay! :thumbsup2

I won't lie to you -- there have been moments where I have waffled about our decision to stay at the Beach Club. It basically happens everytime anyone posts pictures of where they stayed on recent trips.

I have thought about Pop Century. I have thought about Caribbean Beach Resort. I have thought about Animal Kingdom Lodge.

Everytime I bring up a change to Charles he says, "NO!" in the same voice he uses with Nala when she is biting his toes. So, I slink off and head to the reservations area of the Disney website.

Have no fear. I have been practicing resort-changing abstinence and have watched all the rooms for the 4/3 deal book up for Pop, CBR, and AKL. It's meant to be that we stay at the Beach Club.

With another day of rain here in Georgia (we have all forgotten what the sun looks like), I have been dreaming of the Beach Club and thinking about all the things we are looking forward to experiencing.

1. Stormalong Bay: Two and a half acres of sandy-bottomed fun! 300-foot slide! Lazy river! Poolside drinks from Hurricane Hannah's!

2. Campfire and movies on the beach: This sounds like something we would love to do one evening when we are too wiped out to stay at the parks any longer.

3. Illuminations from the boat dock or room balcony: What bliss!

4. Walking distance to Epcot and a boat to Disney Hollywood Studios: Does it get any better than that?

5. Yogurt parfaits at the Beach Club Marktplace: Chelsea and I both think this sounds delicious.

6. Crafts in the afternoon: I found this out over on the Beach Club thread. We love our crafts!

7. The Boardwalk: We have never been over there and want to try the Boardwalk Bakery and Seashore Sweets. How far a walk it is?

8. Turndown in the evening: At Wilderness Lodge and Animal Kingdom Lodge they leave little proverbs. Do they leave something similar with the chocolates at Beach Club?

9. Beaches and Cream: Will we be brave enough to tackle a Kitchen Sink? When is the best time to go?

10. Cape May Cafe: Which is better breakfast or dinner?

So, here is my BIG question for everyone. Charles and I want to have a date night while we are at the Beach Club. We want to head over to Jellyrolls and Atlantic Dance Hall on the Boardwalk. So, we would need to leave Chelsea and Connor at the Sandcastle Club (the Beach Club's kids' club). Has anyone ever used the kids' clubs? What did the kids think of it? How long do you typically leave them for? When can I make reservations? At 90 days with my ADRs?

What am I missing that I should include in my Beach Club plans?

I am excited just thinking about it all!

Have no fear. I have been practicing resort-changing abstinence...

:rotfl2: This sentence made me laugh out loud. Good thing I wasn't sipping my Coke or it would be all over my laptop! ;)

Good job on not switching resorts! YOU WILL NOT REGRET IT! The Beach Club looks so very awesome. I sent an IM to DH yesterday while at work (and browsing the DIS during lunch), "We MUST stay at the Beach Club sometime." It will be amazing! And, you have plenty of future Disney trips to experience the other resorts. You are getting a GREAT steal on this stay, it's wise to take advantage of the more expensive resort with such a good deal. :teacher:

And, EVERY TIME I read your PTR I end up opening a new IE session and typing www.verabradley.com into the address bar. I still haven't bought, but I am oh, so close. Those retired patterns and deep discounts are calling my name....

I love all the new 2009 patterns!

I don't really have any information for you on your questions, but just wanted to say that if we could swing it - I would definitely stay at Beach Club. There are just so many great things about it and about it's location. And Stormalong Bay looks so awesome! :thumbsup2

My vote is to stick with Beach Club this time. There will be many more trips and many more resorts to come. Walking out the back gate to my room after Illuminations and not having to wait in a crowd and stand on a packed bus would be enough to make it awesome for me.

Crafts will be fun. Brooklynn would love that when she's older.

The walk to the Boardwalk is nothing. Just down the walk and across the bridge. You'll enjoy that, too.

We thought about going over for a Beach Club movie this summer when we were staying at Pop, but we never did. In November, Music had them out by the pool every night, so that was nice. That'll be something else Chelsea and Connor will like.

And as soon as you get home from Beach Club, you can start planning for a new resort and a new trip! :)

You scared me the way you started that update, CP! I'm glad you are sticking w/Beach Club I'm sure you'll be happy!

Stick with Beach Club!! It looks absolutely amazing but due to my lack of physical Disney experience, I can't help you with any of those questions...pathetic, I know :confused3

You scared me the way you started that update, CP! I'm glad you are sticking w/Beach Club I'm sure you'll be happy!

Umm excuse me miss but you disappeared from my PTR, where the heck are ya?!

Jackie, the boys went to Simbas Cubhouse at the AKL last April and loved it. I was happy that I had 2 to send together. You have to guarantee 2 hours minimum. the hours are 4-12 I think or 4-11. We left them there for 3 hours and had dinner at Le Cellier alone and it was HEAVENLY! The boys had fun, they have crafts, tons of moneys (Disney of course) video games, book, coloring and board games! The kids were served dinner too. The only issue with this is that dinner was only served between 6-8 so you had to have them there in time to eat. It was $11 per child per hour. We spent $66...it was sooooo worth it:thumbsup2 The ressies can be made with a credit card hold 90 days in advance... You will LOVE the Boardwalk area, it's convience can't be beat.:goodvibes We are eating at the Cape May Cafe for breakfast and dinner so I will be anxious to hear which you choose. I have read GREAT reviews of both lately!:thumbsup2
