Yay-I was so excited when we got this in the mail today. It all sounds so yummy. The only thing is that there's only two of us, and I don't think we really need all that food. And since we're leaving the next day, and we're flying, all the left-overs would go to waste. Anyone know what Piggly-Wiggly has? We'd really like to eat in our villa, rather than go out, so DH said it's OK to check there. It sounds like they've got some neat Thanksgiving Activities. When/what is this Annual Turkey Bowl? And does anyone know about the Golden Turkey Hunt? I can't wait to go!

What about just getting a rotisserie chicken and then make a couple of side dishes (or buy if they're available)?

We'll be arriving on Friday. What have you heard from HH about any resort activities that weekend? Maybe the resort will have some leftovers when we get there. See you there.

I have the list right here in front of me and I'm afraid it doesn't say what's when. I have a feeling that not everything on the "2006 Thanksgiving Recreation Activities Sampler" will definitely be being offered. They list 26 activities, and I'm thinking it's probably just a description of all the activities they ever offer. The only ones I'm pretty sure of are the 4 they list for Thanksgiving Day. I'd still like to know if anyone's done the "Golden Turkey Hunt". I've never heard of that one.

We've been to HH for Thanksgiving almost every year since the resort opened and we have never heard of the "Golden Turkey Hunt". The Recreation Director at the resort is fairly new (maybe about 18 months?), so this may be his addition to the resort offerings? My guess is that it's some sort of family scavenger hunt., but it will be interesting to find out!

Great to hear from you! I figured if anyone would know, it would be you. So I'm gonna assume this is a new one. BTW, Piggly Wiggly is having a Thanksgiving Day package. I don't have the menu yet, but I know it can be picked up from 7:00am-1:00pm. However, the resort offers Sweet Potato souffle, that sounds like it would be hard to beat.

Wanted: Thanksgiving turkey dinner, no leftovers. Why don't you do what a relative of mine did one year when she was alone in a hotel room on Thanksgiving Day----go buy a turkey TV dinner at the Pig!

Or go on Simba's Special Thanksgiving Hunt....while everyone else in the resort is looking for the golden turkey you could sneak into through patio doors and eat some real leftovers....

Anyway, hope you all have a great time! We really wanted to spend Thanksgiving in HH this year but it didn't work out. Headed to WDW instead. Guess it could be worse. :cool1:
