Short scoop: It was fun, but basically, they're just handing out balloons. If this isn't likely to make you giggle with delight, you may want to skip it - and I wouldn't travel too far out of my way just to grab a balloon.
Okay, now for the whole story:
I am driving my DH crazy, I'm sure - but it was fun!
I head to work about 20 minutes outside of Boston at 1 pm on Mondays, so I though we'd take a chance and see what we could see of the "What will you celebrate?" tour this morning.
The team is scheduled to be in Boston's Downtown Crossing today from 11 to 5, so we got there about 11:15. We parked a few blocks away and as we walked closer I could start to see... Mickey balloons!
Just a few at first, tied to strollers or being held onto by other foks walking in the area. As we approached, I started to squeal (how embarassing to do outside of the World!
)
They were everywhere - big, beautiful, colorful bunches of them. It was awesome!!!
They had two vehicles with trailers and the van that is shown on the website parked along the street. On one trailer are Hp computers that run the website promos - I didn't see anything new - and on the other trailer are computers to use to register your birthday. On top of the two cars are giant inflatable red balloons as well.
Each ballon has a golden envelope at the bottom of the string - just like in the promos. I did not have a chance to open mine yet, but I'm guessing it must contain the balloon code that they asked for on the registration site.
We took pictures but I'm at work now and can't upload them until later tonight, so they'll have to wait a while. What a fun way to start the workweek!
