Got my CROCS--They Stink. Really...........

They are made of a material so your feet don't get stinky. Mine don't have the holes in the top, so they do get a little bit sweaty if I don't wear socks but not bad. They have them at Dillards, some Hallmark stores, and certain shoe stores.

Payless also now has fake crocs. Can someone verify if those make your feet sweaty???

I saw them in a big sporting goods store in Quakertown, PA called Nestor's. They didn't have much left, so I think they sell fast. ONe of the salesguy said that two of his co-workers swear by them and they were men. Problem was L was way too big and M was a tiny bit too small. I hate having my heel right at the edge.

The real Crocs are only $29.99. I'd stick with those. They are very comfy, and I don't know if you would get that with knock-offs.

I hear they run big - I usually wear an 8 - am I safe with the 8-9 size? if they run big I wonder if I should get the small 6-7 instead.....

Whew! PU! Such a STRONG odor! Sort of on the mothball side.

That being said--I LOVE THEM! I feel like I am walking on air. Some other observations.....

1--They are very static-y. I just got them 15 minutes ago and they are already attracting dog hair.

2--They run big.

3--They really, really STINK. I am typing right now and the stench is making my eyes water and stomach churn. I am going to put them out on the back porch to air out.

4--They are so ugly, they look COOL

5--Comfy beyond belief. I'll take the stink for comfort. What is a gag or two, here and there?

Weird, mine don't stink nor are they static-y I even went and smelled mine close up and they don't stink at all! I love my Crocs!

Oh yeah did we ever decide what the difference was between the beach model and the cayman model aside from an extra $10 ? They look like the exact same shoe. I got one of each, I guess I will know for sure soon, but I was just curious.

From what I read on the site, the Cayman is the same as the Beach, but it comes in number sizes instead of just s/m/l. There is probably another difference but I'm not sure what.

I don't own them yet, but I am getting tempted...

the smell goes away quickly. I have 2 pair now. I use to take my shoes off as soon I as hit the front door. These are so comfy, I forget that I am wearing them and wear them all the time. I have OA in my knee, and its been much better since I started wearing these shoes. You even get use to how ugly they are after awhile.

OK picture this.. I am standing in the bedroom sniffing my new shoes. My DH walks in, gives me this look and says "what the <insert proper word here>.


OK.. now as I wipe the laughter tears away.. I will let ya all know.. yes. My new crocs have a slight odor. I don't think it is all that stinky, but there is a slight odor.

All three of us have them and, while a bit on the eclectic side they are comfy and should do well for those "wet and rainy" days at DW!!
I use mine for after diving too!

I have 2 pairs of the knock off Payless shoes and I love them... My bestfriend has both payless and crocs and said she notices no difference in the way they wear... payless does not have as many colors or sizes... and the holes are more "flower" shaped instead of circles... I got 2 pair for $29.98...

The Beach come in several colours and in XS S M L XL sizing. From their website they claim ppl loved them but wanted more whole sizing so Caymans were made that are slightly more narrow and come in whole size 7, 8, 9, etc...but are available in less colour options.

Thus having to make individual moulds for each size so and increase in price is needed I'm sure. Cayman are listed as $10.00 more than the Beach. However, I got my Caymans for the Beach price of 29.95 from rei.com website.

Wear them with socks? Are you supposed to wear them with socks? They are ugly enough as it is, I can't see myself putting socks on with them. LOL! No offence..I'm just trying to learn about them. I'll wear anything that will help. I'm still not sure if I am ready to put comfort ahead of style.

NO to socks well in the Beach or sandal versions anyway. They have lots of breathing holes I'm assuming to let in/out some air to cut down on sweating. Can't say yet whether they will let my feet not sweat but I'm happy that even if they do sweat they will not stink (or so says the website).

I don't know if this has anything to do with it, but here goes.

I put out a lot of the flipflops my store was selling. Each was in it's own little plastic bag and the fumes and smell would give me a headache. After a couple days you could not notice any smell.
So the smell you are smelling could be because they are brand new. It could be the materials used in the shoe, or the packing materials.

But I stand on my feet all day. These shoes are starting to look tempting. I'd have to get a black pair, and wear either hose or dress socks, but I could get by with it. hmmmmm
