Got lucky with unpublished codes!

Seeing out there if anyone has experienced this - Got an email from Disney Destinations telling me to call and mention offer code "HTP." I've been fooled by this before only to find out it's the code for rack rate. Well, when I called the Disney vacation specialist actually started bargaining with me! I priced my vacation (GF Sugar Loaf for 5 nights, plus 6 day park hoppers, plus deluxe dining plan for 2 adults and 1 child) online and it was $5400. After some negotiations I got the vacation for $4400. Wahoo! Has anyone ever done this? It was a pleasant surprise for sure!

I got a "code" in the mail from disney "RTP". I called and it was the exact same as the rack rates. It was the same type of page as the pins are usually mailed in, but no discount at all. Tricky dickies.

It might be worth calling and negotiating. The travel agent initially quoted me the "rack rate" and I told him to pound salt (nicely of course!) and then he started negotiating with me. It can't hurt!

I called Disney - room only rate - the other night on a three way split stay I have going. Pop. Poly. YC CL. I told her based on the size of the pop beds I didnt think I could handle pop - she gave me a nice bump to a mod at no charge. Then I told her I had a room only rate at Poly but was thinking of changing it b/c price was just too much (discount only 20 vs. 35% everywhere else). She so kindly gave me the 35% on the Poly. Not sure if I had a pin associated iwth my name but the rate came out to 35% off. Maybe depending on how booked a certain hotel is there is wiggle room....But nonetheless I was so appreciative and so grateful for the extra bit of pixie dust! Glad you got some too!!

Well, I definitely consider myself a lucky gal for being able to hit the World at least once a year with a happy, healthy family. Definitely lots of my own planning goes into it, but I'm lucky enough to have a job that allows me time and money, lucky that we're all able to physically make the trip and lucky that I stumbled upon these boards almost five years ago while planning the kids' first trip. Very thankful for all of it!!

I am relatively new here - I read a lot to get all of your tips for WDW.

I am located in Australia and travelled with Dh, DS and DD WDW staying at Beach Club in May last year. We had 10 days here and loved it!

I am planning on another trip in May 2013 and ask where do I register to 'possibly' get the discount codes?

Well, I definitely consider myself a lucky gal for being able to hit the World at least once a year with a happy, healthy family. Definitely lots of my own planning goes into it, but I'm lucky enough to have a job that allows me time and money, lucky that we're all able to physically make the trip and lucky that I stumbled upon these boards almost five years ago while planning the kids' first trip. I agree! When I was a kid, we didn't have money for extras, so that has made me even more thankful that I have a good job that allows me to take my kids on vacation every year!
