Got it!!!

HA - No way. I've had enough of being called bitter, etc. As I've stated several times, it's not about the discount anymore. Sure. it'd be nice, but for me, I just want an explanation as to what's been going on. If someone can provide me with that, I'll be the happiest camper on the DIS.

You and me both.

Marketing will never reveal how they do their work. I work in IT and closely with marketing department to come up and compile the lists to spam and junk mail. If a prospect or customer calls up and asks who we are sending the communication to, no way in heck we will tell them how we do it.

If it's a mistake, they will never admit it either, unless it's something obvious like the infamous BW glitch.

We will never know what happened or if something is indeed "happening". May just be one big social experiment by Disney to see how worked up an online community can get.

Boom - if you're 50 days out from due date, you don't want get too excited and come early :)

Who's gloom and doom? Just stating an obvious point. Apparently, Disney sent out a memo to all CM's that anyone who procesed the discount without the code would lose their job. The OP has nothing to fear from that.
Ok now were splitting hairs... maybe the OP has nothing to "fear" but you just cant help putting that guilt factor out there.

I love how people think those of us who haven't been lucky enough to get a discount think we have no right to be bitter. I'd love to be so carefree and have such little need for an extra $1,000.
I agree that you have a right to be bitter... what i dont agree with is taking it out on the people when its not their fault. Its Disney's mistake and be bitter with them, not the consumers.

Whereas you might see me as being bitter for posting about not getting the discount, I see some as gloating about the fact that they got the discount. I assure you - If I actually DID get the discount, I wouldn't post about it.
Its easy to be holier than thou when its a hypothetical situation... you dont know WHAT youd do if it were you tho.

It's my wife who's pregnant!

Lord, I thought when I cut my hair back in high school this confusion would stop.;)

How am I making the OP feel guilty? I don't blame them for calling. I blame Disney for making a mess out of this.

Again, I'm not bitter at all with the consumers. Why would I be? I'm 100% bitter with Disney.

Its easy to be holier than thou when its a hypothetical situation... you dont know WHAT youd do if it were you tho.

Trust me, I'm not holier than ANYONE. But no, I wouldn't say anything about it. I feel bad for those who haven't gotten the discount.

I'm glad that people are still posting that they got the discount. It makes me feel a little more at ease that Disney is ok with it. Many days ago people posted that Disney was aware of what was going on, so if they are still allowing people to book the discount today, then they must not care that much. People posting that they got it, just gives everyone a little more hope!! Nothing wrong with giving people hope, in my opinion.

You have every right to be mad a Disney, but I think those of us who got the discount are just asking that you don't rain on our parade.

Here's a little pixiedust: hoping you can get the discount (like I said in another post, I don't know if my pixiedust is any good, but I figure it can't hurt to try)

I apologize if it comes across like that. Honestly, for those that got it, GREAT.
All of my anger is directed towards Disney.

I don't why I'm so adament about it, but I really want them to explain why this has been happening. Not why I didn't get a pin or postcard. I don't care about that. I just want to know why they've let some get the discount, and told others no, and why they're still allowing it, but won't give it to me.

Better not. He considers it gloating if someone announces they got the code!

I believe this is what I said:

I see some as gloating about the fact that they got the discount.

If you can justify why I haven't as much right to be bitter about NOT getting a discount as others have to be happy about getting one, then I won't say another word about it.

Have you called them yet and spoken to one of the mystical "supervisor"?

Well I think it is just luck of the draw. I don't get bitter when I miss out on discounts. Gosh, two years ago I heard AP rates came out for my trip. I am an AP holder. I called to book and was told no AP rates came out. I called 4 times and was told that. I figured I heard wrong and forgot about it. I then found out that those 4 CMS were indeed wrong and rates had come out. But guess what? My resort was no longer available at that point. I tried to get it resolved but got nothing. I was upset at WDW but wouldn't dream on trying to lay a guilt trip on the ones that did get the discount. I feel absolutely no guilt that I was given that code rate today. They gave it me and I am happy with it. Now if they take it away from me then that is their right and fine too. It is certainly their right to do so and I will not be complaining if they did decide to do that either. Either way it was worth that one phone call this morning to save $2500.

Yeah, yesterday.

I spoke with a very pleasant woman. I explained to her I just wanted to know IF there wa a general discount since so many seem to be getting it. And, if there was one, why was I denied it.

She informed me that it wasn't a general discount. She said it was a pin-only and some CM's have been making errors.

If that is the case, then I could really care less. Nothing I can do about incompetent Disney CM's at CRO. None of my business. However, if there is a general discount out there, I do think I should be entitled to a reason as to why I can't have it.

Well, look at it this way:

I see you're staying at the Polynesian for 2 trips this year. I've never stayed there. For our December trip, we thought it would be perfect to stay there since we'll ahve 2 infants. The monorail would be great.

If I could only get the exact same discount that so many others that don't have the pin code are getting, I could take my family to stay there. Without it, I can't afford the price.

So yeah - It bothers me a bit. Not for you or anyone else - But against Disney.

HEY - stop it!

Disney is to blame for this mess-up!

Not other posters on these boards!

There are enough violation of the posting guidelines on this thread to get several posters a time out from posting privileges.

I'm not inclined to give ant violations - cause I understand the frustration - just stop taking it out on each other - OK?
