Thank you! I still cant believe she went out of her way to call me back! We cant wait to stay at the new resort and free dining is even better.
(Mom & mom-in-law too since they're both funny about hotel/resort rooms so they'll be at piece of mind knowing they're in new rooms, my mom said she'll even feel comfortable walking in the room in bare feet! LOL)![]()
That's great! We'll be there on 9/15 (the opening day of the LM section) and I keep telling people how nice it will be to not have to worry about toilets that might not have been cleaned as thoroughly as they should've and showers and floors (especially the bathroom floors) and the whole bed spread issue and all that. I'm so ecstatic!!!![]()

We too will be staying at the AOA in the Little Mermaid section with Free Dining (upgraded to regular dining) for Sept. 25 through Oct. 4. It took numerous phone calls per day over a two week period to finally get it. While I am very excited about staying in a brand new hotel in brand new rooms, I am a bit worried about the crowds. After reading the many many threads about people staying there during that time frame, I have a feeling the hotel will be extremely crowded. However, I will still enjoy my time there. Hoping to run into some disers there.
I'm so tempted to switch to arriving on the 15th instead of the 25th for the 100% new room factor. My baby can crawl on the floor and take a bath. LOL
It's also ends up being $300 cheaper just because it's Sept and not Oct.
I wonder which would be busier? First LM opening week or 10 days after opening?
Would love to see you there...![]()
Going from 9/22-9/30. I was at Pop, then switched over yesterday to the Little Mermaid. There were no issues at all making the switch, called and it was done instantly. It cost $40 or so more for the trip (?!), but I figured it was worth it.
My daughter will be 4 and will go crazy being able to stay with Ariel. Hopefully it won't be too crowded with everybody switching to the new place, but I figured the positives way outweigh the negatives. Looking forward to seeing what the new place is like!
I'm starting to get nervous about crowds too. I keep thinking anybody that would normally be at another value will now be at AoA making the resort overcrowded. Keep wondering if I'll find myself saying "should've stuck to POP".
Me too. I am begining to think I should switch back to POP. I will be ok, if they have plenty of buses going.
Honestly, how many people who aren't on the Disney boards or aren't true Disney resort afficionados are even going to know much about AoA?
Even if/when AoA ads or promotions start being show on tv or more prominently on the website, how many people will take time out of their busy Disney day to go to a resort not their own that doesn't have a table service restaurant?
DH and I switched from Pop to AoA and we definitely would have gone to check out AoA if we couldn't have switched, but only just to walk around to scope it out as a possible location for our next trip, not as a day-trip location.
If AoA busses get too busy, maybe we'll walk over and take the bus from Pop!![]()
