Got any questions, just stayed at AKL?

I could see Kidani resort from our room. We were all the way at the end of Hall at Jambo house 5th floor. Room 5380.

Would love to hear if anyone else has done any of the activities Simba's Mom asked about.

I did both the ceramics painting and jewelry making in October, 2010, and loved them both. I was wondering if they were both still offerred. In case they are, I'll tell you my experiences. First, jewelry making is for ages 13+ only. You make your own jewelry-fortunately, for those of us with zero imagination they have lots of suggestions. It costs per inch-great souvenier. In Simba's Cub house one or two days a week offered for about 3 hours.

My finished necklace, about $28-well worth it.

The ceramics painting was offered two to three days a week, same place and hours, any ages. Lots of choices, as you can see.

You paint what you choose whatever colors you want. And of course the colors all have cute Disney names-Eeyore grey, Mickey's pants red, Pooh gold, etc. And they'll help you with the Mickey heads if you want. Every day I eat my sandwich on the plate I painted.

I highly recommend both activiies if the time works.

Just wanted to pop in and say that at Sanaa, if you really like spice (we do), you can tell them to 'Spice it Up' and the chef's will add a little more 'heat' to your dish. Dh and I loved doing this.

Is that a paint your own Figment?!?!?!?!?

I am not sure which savanna view it was because we got an upgrade. I used points for a value 1 bedroom. We got there at 8am because we were going to spend the day at AK. We came back around 1:45. Room was not ready yet. We were all tired but waited in the lobby, kids napped a bit. It was going on 4 pm and we had 5pm reservations and I really needed to change and shower. So I went up to check again and kindly with NO attitude told all this to the rep and she said the room was not ready but this one was and would we like it. I just said fine. Didn't realize what a great upgrade we got till the next morning.:rotfl: So we had some pixie dust after all.:tink:

It's definitely Sunset Savanna. You can see one of the animal shelters to the upper right and the end of the Kidani Village building to the left.

What a small world [literally and figuratively]!!! :wave2: My son and I were in Room 5384 [reallocated as a standard view studio] from June 2- 11. We were the last room at the end of the hall. Like two ships that pass in the night.

Thanks for sharing the pottery pics, not sure I would have checked it out and would have missed all the neat things they have there! Is it the type where the paint is matte when you are done, but then they glaze and put it in a kiln to make it shiny? How long after painting is your piece ready?

OMG, if I had known, you should have come over and had a glass of wine with me out on the balcony!!! Hope my boys were not too loud for you.

Yes, that's it! You go back and pick up the stuff the next day. When I did it (Monday), I had to go back Tuesday to pick it up. Well, their kiln broke down or something, so when we went back, we were told nothing would be ready til Wednesday. Problem! I was checking out Tuesday to go home. No problem-just fill this paper out with your mailing address. Sure enough, less than a week later, it showed up UPS, well-packed, mo mailing charge.

:thumbsup2, that's great! I will definitely have to check out the schedule and hope there's ceramics painting when we go this October.
