When I go to WDW, I ususally eat breakfast on the fly, but I'm going with my Dad this year, and he wants to have a big breakfasts. I realized I don't have a clue about where to eat for breakfast! :> He's a senior and I'm in my 30s, so we're not into the whole character thing and would like to avoid the character breakfasts. We're staying at the Poly, so I think we'll do Kona Cafe. I may do room service if we have an early morning, but I'm pretty much clueless about anything else! :confused3

Anyone have any suggestions?

go to the Kona Cafe at the Polynesian resort.
Wonderful coffee, the best! And great tonga toast or anything else like eggs bacon, YUMYUM

We stayed at Poly for the first time for our honeymoon in November and loved eating breakfast at Kona Cafe. They have a breakfast skillet that is delicious. We highly recommend this restaurant for breakfast or dinner.:goodvibes

My In-Laws - who are in their early 60's LOVED breakfast at Whispering Canyon. FIL's a breakfast lover and this was his favorite breakfast.

Whispering Canyon is probably my favorite non-character breakfast as well. Close behind is Kona Cafe.

As soon as I read the title of your thread my initial response was Kona, before I even saw you were staying at the Polynesian. We go there for breakfast at least once a trip, but their dinner is great as well.

I've heard good things about WCC's breakfast. I would like to try it on our next trip.

If you're headed to EPCOT one day Spoodles has an excellent breakfast.:thumbsup2

Kona Cafe is a nice place for breakfast. Also, we had a nice meal at the grend floridian cafe while DS was on the pirate cruise.

We enjoyed the Yacht Club Galley for a non character breakfast. They have a wonderful breakfast buffet and also a full breakfast menu. This is the first place I ever had oatmeal brulee, yum! Also the Grand Floridian Cafe's breakfast is wonderful and it's a beautiful walk from the Poly. Wonderful wait staff at both locations.

Thanks so much for the suggestions! I never would have thought of some of those. I think we'll do Boma on our AK morning, that way we'll be close by. I'll definately do WCC too, and will have to choose from the others.

Thanks again. :>

Boatwright's! It's got a wonderful breakfast! Twice now we've gone for breakfast there without staying at the resort. It's scheduled as our last meal on our upcoming trip.

The servings are plentiful so your Dad shouldn't have any concerns about not being filled up before a long day at the parks.

We used to eat breakfast at the grab and go food courts but the last 4 trips I have made breakfast reservations at some great places and DH was happy that I did, it kept us full longer and we were able to skip lunch.

Kona is our favorite place to go, the eggs benedict, tonga toast and pressed pot coffee is out of this world. We usually eat here is we are having a very big dinner.

CP is great, I like to get into the park at 8:05 for the first seating and walk through an empty Main Street. DH is a huge fan of the puffed french toast and I like everything! The only down side is the place is jam packed and very loud...I guess people like the 8am ressie just like me!

Cape May at the Beach Club is out of this world awesome! The food is the best and there is a ton of fresh fruit (my favorite). Since it is not that busy the characters come around to see you many times.

The Princess Breakfast was fun (we took our nieces) but I would not go again. Donalds in AK was very good and 1900 Park Faire was terrible. Spoodles was the worst breakfast we ever had.

Next trip we are going to try Boma and Chef Mickeys.

I recommend Whispering Canyon Cafe at the Wilderness Lodge, and Crystal Palace in Magic Kingdom. Now, I know you're going to say that you don't want character meals, but trust me, this one is really fun, and it 100% worth checking out.
