Did anyone else get one of these? Found this in my mailbox this morning in response to the e-mail I sent last week regarding park hours for MNSSHP and MVMCP.

Dear Ms. ---,

Thank you for your e-mail to the Walt Disney World® Resort.

opportunity to review your situation and speak with you personally. I
invite you to contact me at (407) ------- and leave your telephone

I will call today and let you guys know what she said.....

Yes, a bunch of DISers got this response and posted it in the "Attn MNSSHPers" thread.

I also posted what an executive from Disney named Michelle said in her phone message to me Saturday. Not good news. :(

Could you post a link to the other thread please as I can't find it and would like to read the posts.

:)

this is the response i received and i'm wondering if it would do me any good to actually call.

I am thinking about waiting till a few of the Halloween parties are done to decide if I want to purchase tickets to the Christmas party???? :confused3

See how things go.

maybe it won't be so bad???

I know I will end up going on 12-15!! I am really excited about it!

I hope it is not too big of a mess??

I got that letter, and it was from April Mckenzie. She told me the park would stay open until 7 but CMs would be checking for writsbands and ask those without MNNSHP tickets to leave the park.

We have attended both parties with sold-out crowds. Both times it was pretty darn crowded. At the beginning of both it was utter gridlock! Many folks seemed confused about the party starting (even though signs had been posted all day at the entrance) and would NOT have left unless a CM told them they HAD to! Both times people stopped and asked us what the wristbands were for, what the party entailed, ect. I can tell you there is no way we would spend money for tickets if they do not clear non-ticket holders out! We would avoid the place like the plague. I can't even begin to imagine the chaos. Very few people go to the parties for the rides, but the parades and shows are packed as it is!!! We skipped the trick-or-treat lines until later in the evening when the place cleared out, the lines were very long in the early evening.

I got this message too. Ive left my phone number and Ive e mailed my reply, as im from the UK, so I doubt they will phone me.

There are lots of "chat" on another board, about alot of people not bothering to buy tickets now, and just try to see parade and fireworks for free. There is even a hints and tips section for how to avoid CMs!

That makes me sooo mad.

Ive said in my reply, IF there are many non wristbanded people ruining my familes view of the parades fire works dance party or t & treating, i WILL be asking for a refund, under the bases of being "mis sold" ( Ive checked with my Credit card, which I paid for the tickets on)
You need proof ( which you can get from video or photos)

This was meant to be hard ticket event, which it is looking more and more likely not to be. !

Hoping for a positive response, but dont think I will get it. Wish I had waited, and not brought the tickets now. We go on the 12th, our family fly in on the 14th. They are only going to go, IF the party was sorted and organised properly.

I be Universal are LOVING this !

Sounds like they are trying to max the food/souvenir sales up to the last possible minute from the non-party guests. I have attended many MVMCP's over the years, maybe not this year.

That just isn't going to cut it ... Asking people to leave is going to have little or no effect.

Indeed it does. Rather sad in a way.

I was thinking the same thing. I will likely wait to hear reports from those attending MNSSHP and then make an informed decision based on how they are handling things this year.

Just want to point out that's exatly what they have done in the past, and it's never been a problem.

I've been to the parties before, and I'd say that whether it 'has been a problem' or not is debatable. Last year, for instance, I saw many people at MVMCP without wristbands walking around. Furthermore, I watched many more get on rides (in front of & behind me) without being asked to show a wristband to a CM.

I'm not sure if you enjoy the prospect of paying for a party when others get to enjoy the same benefits for free, but for me, I'm not that big of a fan of it. :confused3

But thanks for 'pointing that out'.

When have they closed the park at the same time as a party starts in which people have paid alot of money to attend?

If you go back and look at my post, you'll see exactly what I was responding to when I said that is what they have done in the past. It's right there in the post. Really!

Just in case you don't want to go back and see, it was that CM's will be asking people to leave. In the past, they've asked people to leave, and most have left. The poster said that asking people to leave will have little effect. Based on what has happened previously, I disagreed.

I also said it hasn't been a problem. I based this on my visits, as well as probably a hundred trip reports from others - none of which mentioned the problems they've had with non-paying guests mucking up their evenings.

If anyone wants to believe that Disney will fall down on the job this year and the parties will be horrible, go right ahead. I don't.

I wonder why they don't handle it like Universal does for Halloween Horror Nights.

Basically, anyone in the park at the posted closing time who has tickets for the special event must check in, have their ticket scanned, and wait at one of the several roped off holding areas within the park. These areas usually include a counter service location making it a great time to take a dinner/snack break. While the attendees wait in the designated area for about 45 minutes, rides/activities in the rest of the park cease & the park is cleared of all those not having tickets to the event. Once the all clear is given, those in the holding area are free to travel the park again.

While you lose a bit of park time, it certainly seems much more fair than what some of you are describing as having gone on at MNSSHP. I'd be upset too if I were you!

What you are describing sounds similar to what WDW has done in the past for these types of events. For some reason they are now going to try another method, and we are not happy. Our group is attending the 1st party so we'll be the guinea pigs!

Could you please provide me with a link to a trip report where someone attending a hard ticket WDW that was handled this way? I didn't know it was done before and would feel much better seeing some more info on this.

From what I've been reading they have done it differently in previous years & this year they are going to close the park at 7, start the party at 7 & merely ask day guests who didn't pay for MNSSHP tixs to leave the park. Has that gone over well in the past when they've done it, because I haven't heard from anyone who has been there when they've done things in that manner. Thx!

I completely agree with you. I have paid for my MVMCP tix and we are meeting friends there. I do not live in FL, I am traveling to come for my Christmas celebration and I am not to keen on the idea that my family has done things the appropriate way and purchased our tix in advance as required. I will be very angry to have to share that space with someone who could not be bothered to attend in the correct manner. I think it is insulting to me and my pocketbook that Disney wanted my money to attend but we will let Joe Blow attend because he is still in the park. My children want a good spot to watch the parade and if I have to fight with someone who is not wristbanded to get a spot, well I think that I might just lose my Jesus about me and get a little fiesty. If I paid for that spot for my kids then they better move out of my way.
