So we just passed ROFR on July 2 on a 100 point BLT contract. Then I get to thinking about the fact that that will NEVER be enough points for us. So I just made an offer that was accepted on 150 points at SSR. :yay: Gotta stop now...

Stopping is extremely difficult!

Welcome Home!

Congratulations! :goodvibes I feel your 'pain.' ;) We only waited a couple months after closing before adding on . . . passed ROFR on contact #2 on 7/10. It is addictive for sure. Can't wait for our first DVC trip! :cool1: Enjoy all your points!

Been there, done that. I'm not sure I made it though ROFR on my 120 BLT before I made an offer on a 160 SSR. So, looks like you're making smart choices. :D

I'm in a similar situation. Passed ROFR last month on 200 pts at AKV and already looking to add on at BLT to use on alternate years...

Have those owning 100pts at BLT found this to feel substantial? It seems about enough for 4-5 days in a one-bedroom every two years during the lower-priced times, which sounds good in theory but I'm sure will feel short. Guess I'll end up buying 50pts at VWL (our runner-up second home choice) and create split stays... o_O

Will seriously stop after that.

Been there done that!

I would suggest that you take your time, experience the different resorts, rooms, views, locations, and the inner workings of the DVC before you continue buying.

If we had taken our time we would own 3 fewer resorts.

Just me being curious but what 3 resorts would you reverse your decisions on?

AKV, animals are an attraction for awhile but that wears off and the dues are moving higher.
BCV, don't do Storm much anymore, views are just so so.
BLT, close to MK but that's it for us.

Keepers,
VGF, flagship resort, need I say more?
Old VWL, we will see if they screw it up.
BWV, boardwalk view is the best on property IMO.

I own 120 BLT, and I'm planning five nights in a two-bedroom around July 4th, which will cost me 250 points if I can get a standard view. I think 100 points would be plenty as long as you have other points to be more flexible with. We just picked up 25 points at BWV to do Food & Wine every other year.

When I bought AKV I planned on adding on at BWV a year or so later, assuming I liked the whole DVC experience. Then DVC built VGF, so now I can't decide which I want. Since I currently have points to last me through my Dec. 2016, vacation, I figure I have until Jan. 2017, to close on my future add on.
