Checked in yesterday, joked around with the CM. I told him how I was taking each of my grandchildren one at a time to Disneyland. I asked him if any of the renovated rooms were available, he checked and there was. It was ready for us, (at 12:30) and had a great pool view. Boy did it ever. We loved it! Our visit couldn't have been better. Everyone was so nice, room service was great, Storyteller's cafe was incredible. Everywhere we went the CM's wished him a happy birthday. We swam all day Sunday. He loved the pool, declared it was "paradise". Had room service for dinner, (he loves room service and it was his 10th birthday) We headed over to Disneyland around 9:00 a.m. and rode thunder mountain over and over. Finally got a fast pass, and headed over to his other favorite ride, Buzz Lightyear. We rode that over and over. We did a few others and Thunder a couple more times then headed to Storyteller Cafe. Of course we love the Grand so we like going to see it every visit. Had a nice lunch. It wasn't crowded and our servers were great. Hopped into CA and rode soarin' over and over. Also Grizzly river run. By this time I was getting pretty whipped and we walked around. I gave him a lot of the history and he wanted to go back to Disneyland and look again at Main Street and a few other things. Great overnighter. We had so much fun.
The rooms are incredible. He loved the headboard and we kept the stars lit up all night. The view was to die for. The whole wall is window and you don't miss the balcony. It is a bit small though. Everything is so beautifully done though. The other towers look really shabby next to it.
