Got a call from Delta about our July 6 flight

Its overbooked and they are looking for people to change to an earlier flight or a different day! I have no interest in changing so I didn't hear what they are offering. They say they are calling everyone with a reservation on the flight.

How could something be so overbooked 3 months ahead of time? I'm wondering if they cancelled a flight and combined them. A few weeks back our flight time was changed an hour and we lost our seats. I called and got them reassigned. I checked them now and everything still looks OK on our reservation. I will definitely be checking daily from now on.

FYI, this is the 6:20 pm flight from MCO to Boston.

Make sure you check in 24 hours in advance and get to the airport. In an oversell situation, those with seat assignments are rarely bumped involuntarily. I'd keep checking to make sure you still have those seat assignments, and I'd get to the airport a bit early.
