Got a 40% room discount code!

I had gotten a 20% off room only discount code, and called today to see if there happened to be any better discounts associated with my name (thanks DISboarders for all the posts about calling just to check!), and the lovely CM I spoke to told me we could get 40% off for the week at the end of August we were looking for!

We’ve booked a room at the Grand Floridian, and are so excited! Wishing good luck and pixie dust that everyone else looking will get codes too!

I've been "checking" and calling if there are any 40% codes associated with our name..One CM told me that you must either have a postcard through mail or internet.. She then explained that if there no code from either one of those and a CM applies a 40% code, "THEY COULD LOOSE THEIR JOB AS THE PHONES ARE MONITORED"???

Has anyone else heard this? Interesting though that some people have 20%, then hit a "generous CM" to apply 20% more for a 40% code!!

Coming from someone who works in a customer service field (not disney).....this CM doesn't not truly think that all or most of their phone calls are bring monitored. (I'm sure some are for "quality assurance"). If one of the customer service associates that work under me made such an unprofessional comment they would be receiving a verbal warning. You never, never tell your customers that helping them would make you lose your job.

Thanks! More detail on my experience that may shed more light on the magical codes: I didn't even tell the CM that I had gotten the 20% off code emailed to me; just that I was thinking of booking a reservation for the dates we wanted and wondered if she could check for any discount codes associated with my name. Then after checking for about 30 seconds, she said I was very lucky to have a 40% off code associated with my name for the dates we wanted! So, in this case, I don't think the CM did anything beyond applying a code that was already there that I just didn't know about.

Just wanted to spread some hope that there could be a higher discount associated with your name even if you've gotten an email/ postcard for a lower amount! Good luck to you and all other code hunters!

I booked last August, then got a PIN code in January.

I was booked for the 10 days after Thanksgiving '07 and called to see if a pin was attached to my name in July. I got about 20% off my package. Saved about $600.

What are the closing dates of the codes for those of you that have a code ? My DD just got a code that ends Dec 13th. That is the first night of her planned 5 day stay. We are hoping for a code that will cover the whole stay.

I called the other day and I also had a % off code attached to my name. We are going Dec. 9-14 at Wilderness Lodge (courtyard view) with dining, and park hoppers. The total was @ $2100. There were specified dates to use the code...sounded mainly like the value times but that is ok by me. The discounts he said were up to 40%. I think mine is pretty close.

We were fully booked when I got my 40% off email. Which allowed us to upgrade to AKL from a mod. Saved us approximately $1000.00.

As long as the code is valid on your check in day I believe it will apply to your whole trip.
