I am going to Disney in May and just last week my brother and his 3 kids and my mother decided to join us. We are staying offsite at a timeshare...But I waited to make reservations until he knew for sure if he was going. I got my dinner when I wanted and the BBB around the time I wanted. I didn't get Chef Mickeys on the day I want and the time I reserved for that they had available is at 7:20am. The lady on the phone just told me to keep calling back closer to the week I'm going because many people book multiple places and then decide at the last minute where they want and maybe something will open. If not then it's only one day we have to be up really early for something. And the day before we are at a waterpark so it will be a early night already which works out good. What are your experiences on getting something last minute? What other suggestions for character breakfast do you have? We have never done character meals before and this isn't our last disney trip.

Just keep trying and be flexible on times. We were able to get some moved around when we were there on Thanksgiving week last year.

I can highly recommed Donald's Safari breakfast at Tusker House if you're going to Animal Kingdom.
We had a 8am breakfast reservation, and our time share wasn't too far from AK so it wasn't too early.

Great food, Mickey, Donald, Daisy and Goofy(all in Safari gear) stop at every table to sign autographs and do pictures. When we were there (2 weeks ago), Goofy stayed and led the kids on a dance around the room. Great fun!!

A plus for the 8am ressie, is that Tusker House is right outside the Safari, so you are one of the first onto the Safarai ride at park opening-9am.

As far as last minute, I can tell you that I cancelled a Chef Mickey breakfast for our last day on the day before. We had seen enough characters, had done a character meal, and I just made the ressie too darn early for day 6- we were all tired and needed that extra hr sleep.

So, I would call right up to the day you want to go. You may get lucky!

I was originally looking for Chef Mickeys on May 19th and then we were heading to Epcot after.... Right now our ressies are for the 21st which is the day we are going to Animal Kingdom. So I will keep trying and if I don't get anything maybe I can luck out with the Tusker House. Thanks!
