Called yesterday to book for mid-August .... yeah, I know I am late. Got a standard studio for 3 nights and then moving to a savannah view studio for 2 nights. Had to purchase a few extra points to complete the reservation which went very smoothly. I had 64 points to use up before the end of August so I am glad I was able to get AKV. Actually I had a choice of every resort being available, but for the studio only AKV, OKW and SSR. We are staying at CBR before moving to AKV, so this will be a terrific vacation overall!

Did you get your extra points for this trip from the new offering through Disney/DVC at the $15 per point?

Yes, I purchased the extra points at $15.00 per point instead of borrowing from next year. I banked this years points into the next use year, because we are planning on going 3 times. I had to use those 64 points up because they were banked from the previous use year. When I purchased the extra points, there was a 3 way conversation between myself, the DVC person handling the reservation, and an agent who "looked" for the points available and charged them to my credit card. It all went very smoothly. I am sure DVC likes getting money for some of the points that are hanging around, and it saves me from borrowing from next year.
