I'm saying neither of us could that's my point. There are thousands of people like us. So it isn't a fair vote. Everyones vote should count for the true AI. The 1300 vote diff(or whatever it was) proves there was a problem. I just don't like feeling like I've been scammed into watching what I thought would be a fair show. The voting is just ridiculous. Like I said they've lost my neilson box and probably my moms. She's a little ticked also.

I seriously wonder if something was up with the votes last night! For one, they really needed more phone lines open! I approximated that I called 2880 times last night, and only got through 10!

I think he'll probably have a better career not winning, but either way, the boy has a bright future! And if being the Idol doesnt work out, he can come marry me and have 2.5 kids and a dog!

I loved them both, and I had no real preference who won. I also loved Kimberly Locke and would have been o.k. had she won as well.

They are all WINNERS as far as I am concerned! I'm so happy for Ruben though, he worked HARD and has AMAZING talent! I look forward to seeing MORE of him in the near future!

I sure HOPE so!! He has relatives here in Atlanta so who knows?

Several stations that are not owned by my station were supporting him over and beyond the call! I think he'll visit them first.

As for the racism thing, I don't think it's racism as much as preference. Ruben reminded me of Luther Vandross, who is my idol! With Luther so ill, Ruben is like a voice of fresh air where there is a void. I recall someone asking WHO was Luther Vandross in a post once... If it's not your style you will not like it. It all depends.

I read these boards to get a different prospective. I listen to my friends, co workers and family, then I come here. It's nice to know what people think, and very interesting.

That's what I'm saying. Both were equally talented and yes they do have different styles -- that's what makes them so great! There should be no need for bickering or false accusations, just be happy for both Clay and Ruben.

My mom voted for Clay, I was for Ruben but didn't vote for him. In my humble opinon I think Clay would make a wonderful Broadway or Vegas singer but not a popular radio kinda artist. His type of music will go good with the Josh Groban, Kenny G, Barry Manilow, Barbara Stresand crowd. I see Clay headlining a Broadway show someday. I think Ruben will have more of crossover type songs that will be R&B and will sell more records with fans of Brian McKnight, Luther Vandross, and Keith Sweat.

Don't get me wrong though, I'll buy both of their CDs I just think if Ruben gets his weight down and more of a stage presience then I think he'll go further. Clay will be good entertainment when I visit Vegas someday.

I'm more upset by the very close count, I find it difficult to believe.

People voting more than once is also what I complained about. We don't buy 100 of the same cd in a day. We (most of us ) buys one.

First prom queen Jenna on Survivor and now Ruben on AI -- oh and that whiny chick on the last Amazing Race too. I haven't had the person I've been rooting for on any of these shows win in the longest time. I think I'd like a little more fantasy in my reality. It's ALMOST enough for me to quit watching. ALMOST.

:sigh: I really did think Clay sang so much better than Ruben on that last song. And he just improved so much over the course of the show. Plus he works with special needs kids. :sigh:

The reason that I'm upset is that I tried to vote for Clay for over 3 hours and was unable to get thru even one time. The way that they are doing American Idol just isn't fair and that is why I'm so upset. They have got to make it one call per phone. It will be very interesting to see whether Clay or Ruben sells the most records, I think that will show the true vote for American Idol.

In the end I don't think the winner really matters. If they're talented they are going to be able to be succesful...Tamyra finished 4th and she has a record deal and a TV gig! Frenchie didn't even get to participate and she's on Broadway! Justin was second and he's going to be in a movie! I think both Ruben and Clay were great and it's impossible to compare the 2 because their styles were so diffrent! I thought Ruben was better, but that might have something to do with the fact that I wasn't really feeling Clays music choices! All of the kids worked so hard!
There is a really Good Article on MSN about the finale and the politics behind it. They mention that Clay and Ruben have already been in the studios for awhile! So all is not lost Clay fans!

I was very sad that he lost. I could not get one vote in- I live in Raleigh. Ruben and Clay are talented in different genres. I think though Clay is more versatile than Ruben, who seems to do better singing ballads.


I look forward to buying Clay's first CD!
