Trying to decided between these two character breakfasts. Chose these two because they are outside the park and I think we will do it on our off day. I thought Mickeys so we could see the main guy and minnie. It sounds like they have some of the bigger name characters there but on the other hand I hear better interaction at Goofys? My kids don't really know a lot of the characters since we don't cable only from books.
Any opinions on the two? Thanks

I thought there was MUCH better interaction at Mickey and Friends. Goofy's had a bunch of characters that we were not familiar with. (DS knows the big 5) Mickey's had Mickey, Minnie, Daisy, Pluto and Stitch. It's a lot less crowded.

At Goofy's-we just interacted with Goofy at the photo as we entered. Minnie completely walked by our table. We did see Pluto a bunch which was good.

We did Goofy's in April for dinner. The food was good. We saw Goofy, Minnie, Snow White, Dale...Pluto was there, but never came by our table.
We are doing Surf's Up next time. DD loves Stitch. I would imagine the food is similar.
I think it's really up to if you want to see Mickey or not.

Can't go wrong with either!! Those are our two favorites! We like them each for different reasons. Either way, I think you will not be disappointed!! :yay:

Great Thanks. I figure mickey waffles and after that we really aren't paying for a good meal just some character time.

We just got back from our first Disney adventure last Saturday. We went to the Beach Club for breakfast one morning and had a fantastic experience! Donald, Goofy, & Minnie made multiple stops at our table & interacted with our kids and took photos each time. If you go early (our reservation was 7:35) you'll get the most time with characters & the food is super fresh! Make sure you do it on a day when you're planning to go to Epcot...you can just walk right into the International Gateway to World Showcase.

We've done three of them, my wife knows the names by heart but I don't remember any of them :) Our little ones LOVED Mickey and Minnie ... were lukewarm toward Goofy but absolutely adored the princesses (well my daughter did anyway). We did one with Stitch too and my kids were actually scared of him due to lack of familiarity. I'd say to go with the one whose characters your kiddos are most familiar with. Interaction level depends on how busy they are IMO. The first one we did, every character came by 5-6 times and it was great. The second and third times they only came around 1-2 times due to a larger crowd.

EDIT: I remember the difference now, the one where the characters came by 5-6 times was breakfast early in the morning. The one with a larger crowd and less character time was brunch. I'm not a morning person AT ALL but it's worth dragging yourself up once if you want to maximize character time IMO.

I actually prefer Surfs up!...they have some different selections than either at Minnies in the park or Goofy's ...i love salmon and eggs and rice and they have it...plus the kids bar is good....Id pick Mickey's over Goofy's any day and its not just because im partial to mickey either;)

Actually we think that the breakfast at the Paradise Pier hotel is WAY WAY better than all of them. It has the fab 5, plus stitch and goofy's son max. This breakfast is overlooked and often pretty empty - so you get lots and lots of time with the characters. Plus they do lots of activities with the kids - invite them all up for dance offs, play with them, etc - it is by far the best breakfast! At goofy's kitchen we feel like we're in a lineup and the characters were just doing their rounds as opposed to really interacting.

Just got back today and my son and I did both of these. Personally, you can't loose with either. I would say the food is similar - I wouldn't consider one higher end and the other lower end. They were average (based on the food we usually eat). Looking back, that would not be a deciding factor at all. In terms of characters, both places had cool characters and they visited our table. I would say the interaction was quite limited but that was OK with me. I didn't expect them to spend that much time with my son... just enough for a couple of good photos. Also, we found many of the characters in the parks as well so had many photo opps with them too. Enjoy!

We just got back last night...I gotta say Surf's Up with Mickey id MUCH MUCH better in my opinion. At Surf's Up we had Mickey,Minnie,Pluto,Daisy ans Stitch. The food was really good and less crowded resturaunt.

As for Goofy's we only did dinner we saw Goofy,Minnie,Dale,Cinderella,Snow White,Mad Hatter, Pluto....the dinner buffet didn''t have a lot of choices for the price, the quality was only slightly, not much better then something like Golden Corral.

I noticed the characters are there then there gone..if you want to see a certain one you may have to wait over an hour ...and wait sometimes even after you have finished eaten.

I have to add the Plaza wasn't any better...I would do Goofy's before the Plaza Inn.

At Disneyland??

I have done Goofy's numerous times and loved it. BUT, one of our last trips, we did Surf's Up at teh Paradise Pier, and it was WONDERFUL. Fewer characters, but better interaction. We had a 1030a reservation, and it closed shortly after. The characters hung around until at least noon. From about 1130-noon, there were only maybe 5 parties there, and we felt like we had a private time with Goofy, Mickey, Minnie, and Stitch!!

Wow you had a MUCH different experience at the plaza breakfast with Minnie. When we went there each character came by our table several times (and it was busy customer wise too). We hardly had time to eat because we were constantly taking pictures and talking to the characters. We saw several as well (7 maybe 8 as I try to recount off the top of my head). All of them spent time at our table each time they passed. And they did a little dance with the kids in the middle of all the tables as well. I highly recommend the plaza character breakfast.
